Madden NFL 24 Impressions | PS4, XBOX One

I've read that there is a draft class glitch in franchise mode where all the players appear with the same physique.

Is this also the case in the PS4 / XBOX ONE version?

Yes you do have to buy the version with both. I haven't seen anything different but I have the disc. I raised the injury slider about 5 clicks so far just a few lineman and wide receivers. I would have to test it some more.

Something is definitely a little different. Just can't figure out what. Every year since Madden 19, the first thing I do is make the 2001 NFL rosters and watch CPU vs CPU. This year, It's been easier to get completion percentages below 65%, along with games where there's an even ratio of TDs-FGs. No more 35-21 or 19-12. Getting games like 17-13, 20-10. More realistic defensive battles and less of the 2-3 defensive TDs a game. Better PR yardage at times. Last year there would be games where the CPU would have more PRs than PR yards. Still pretty similar to Madden 23 but I like whatever they did to gameplay because it feels a little more polished, and I enjoyed Madden 23.

Why did they remove Assign Auto-Subs?! I clicked on every menu and it's nowhere to be found.. now if my RB gets subbed out he never comes back in. Last year I had Assign Auto-Subs setup well enough that the RB would come back in the game. This year I can't. I basically have to play with fatigue set low and do formation subs in game.

Are on the field referees in the ps4 version? I know this year is the first year its back on PS5. Not sure if I read its for ps4 too?

It's the same as last year if you're referring to last gen.

Messing around with last gen a bit and league history doesn't include the 2023 season. The last year it lists is 2022. Simming to the end of the season it lists the 2024 season stats. The super bowl number jumps from 56 to 58.

The coach skill trees on last gen is weird? Like they made the UI match next gen with the expanded skill trees but last gen is the same so there's a huge part of the screen that is just blank.

There were no QB injuries in the season that I simmed.

Simmed stats were fairly decent. Ints are really high. Most qbs had over 10 interceptions. Baker was the passing leader so this leads me to believe that playbooks still play a major roll in QB sim stats.

Von Miller had 28.5 sacks.

The menus are really snappy though there are hitches when scrolling through menus where stuff doesn't load but overall it's fine.

Going back to the gameplay is crazy. It's almost as if the game is being fast-forwarded to how fast and zippy players are.
