I consider them to be final (at least in relative terms). I've played a bunch of games with them now and am satisfied with the results. That's not to say that they're perfect for everyone. Everybody plays (or coaches, rather) in their own style and the play calling itself will have an effect on the outcome. Some coaches dive a lot deeper than I do when calling plays (and may get better results than I do), others may be more heavily slanted to the passing game than I am, etc. No set of sliders is going to be perfect for everyone's game. In fact, I prefer to think of slider sets as a guideline by which you make your own adjustments. Mine are right for me, but may not be right for everyone, or frankly, for anyone else.

I'm glad that for once we can play a game that looks and feels realistic without spending hundreds of hours trying to tweak the AI so that they provide even a little realism. I'm glad that this year the game was already pretty close out of the box. It made the process a lot easier. By far, the game is a lot less arcadey than it had been in the past.

I'm still using my slider setting of 52, but if you don't feel you're getting enough, by all means feel free to tweak yours.

Only thing I feel is off is interceptions for me on both sides of the ball. Maybe I'm just good at defense and terrible at offense. I usually just pick the strategy plays though unless it's an obvious run/passing down.

Re: Madden 16 Coach Mode Realistic All-Pro Sliders

First off let me say thank you sons for doing the work you have done on these sliders. I am a coach mode player and really like these sliders but just a couple quick observations and questions for everyone in the forum especially sons since he created these sliders.

  • QB's don't seem to be taking many shots down the field in the games I played. They seem to be taking the underneath stuff much more. Have you seen the computer taking more shots down field?
  • I am not seeing pressure getting to the QB by the CPU is the pass blocking on HUM side set a little high? I watch the defensive plays for the team I am controlling in broadcast mode and their seems to be very little pass rush. Since I don't control defensive players should I lower the CPU's Pass block?
  • Fumbles I haven't seen one in the 3 games I have played with these sliders. Have you guys seen fumbles and if not what should I change to see a few fumbles afterall they are part of a NFL game.
  • Interceptions not seeing any for the most part I have seen 1 in 3 games. Do you think I should increase interceptions to 30 or 35?
A little bit about how I play since I know that factors into the sliders I should be using. On Offense - I play coach mode for passing I never ever throw the pass I pick all my plays from the 3 plays I am given I never audible. I do control RB's after they clear the hole and do control WR's after the catch because it's just fun. I don't do any kicking plays I sim them all.
Defense - I watch the plays I call from the 3 choices in broadcast mode so I never control defensive players at all.

Thanks and I look forward to your response!

I see the CPU take enough shots down the field. That said, there shouldn't be too many probably no more than 4 or 5 20-yard pass attempts per game. A lot will depend on your opponent. Look at a team like KC. They NEVER throw the ball downfield.

For sacks, you should be seeing about 2.5 per team. A lot will depend on your offensive line, your quarterback and your play calling. That said, if you're not getting enough sacks I would lower the pass block slider to get more.

I'll stand by my statement earlier on fumbles. There are actually a lot less fumbles than perceived. I'd also suggest that the fumble animation creates more of a turnover chance than in real life. There should be less than 1 lost fumble per game (about .8). If you still feel like you're not getting enough, lower the fumble slider.

If you're not getting enough interceptions, then raise the interceptions slider. There should be slightly more than 1, although again a lot will depend on who your quarterback is. Tom Brady won't have many. Bad quarterbacks will have a lot.

Keep in mind that the testing I performed were in a 32 team franchise. Because of this, I was able to see how the sliders were affecting all teams.

I'd also mention that the CPU does a horrible job at suggesting plays, particularly when it comes to run/pass splits. There should be (on average) 28 runs and 36 passes per side. When using the play suggestions there tends to be considerably more passes than this, in large part because playbooks have many more passes than runs. This is because there are only so many different run blocking schemes and only so many holes a runner can go through. There are hundreds of passing route combinations that can be called, so they tend to have more suggestions than actual runs. A good way to think about this, is that on 1st and 10 there is about a 50/50 split, but typically there will only be 1 run suggestion and 2 pass suggestions on the first screen of suggestions. Additionally, the community suggestions also tend to be pass heavy. I'd recommend using the strategy suggestions and scrolling through them to find more runs and use them a bit more often than they actually occur.

Re: Madden 16 Coach Mode Realistic All-Pro Sliders

Just picked up Madden 16 last week at a discount price so I'm late to this party. I used sonsart2's sliders for 15 as they made the best of what was a flawed game.

I was wondering how these sliders hold up long term as far as difficulty in winning games over the long haul. Previous versions of Madden suffered from this as it became too easy to win games so it had nothing to do with sliders, plus the Drive Goals puts another turd in the pinch bowl this year. But are you guys still losing games when you should and getting the occasional upset?

Thanks

You MUST use a 32 team control Franchise. The Drive Goal bug is absent when you are controlling all teams. I'm getting a fair balance of outcomes. Win some, lose some. The sliders themselves are tilted slightly toward the CPU, which helps.
