Rory McIlroy Complaints

Has anyone run into getting stuck in the thick rough or trap in Rory McIlroy? Sometimes, regardless of shot shaping up or down, I'm caught in an uphill sand shot and can't get out regardless of numerous attempts.

I'll grab a video next time it happens, but score limiting each hole this happens on (3x so far in 3 days of playing), is a bit frustrating. Any tips welcomed.

Should also add I'm playing on Tour difficulty.

I go to a flop shot, then aim down at the bottom of the ball to scoop it (changes it to custom - Mark initially is at the top of the ball). Aim short of the hole or landing desrination and take a good swing at it.

This is on tour difficulty.

Yes that works but the ball strike zone is reversed in this version. Hitting at the bottom causes a punch shot. That's why flop is at top to start.


Don't know why they changed it. So just try switching to punch and see if it's the same?

I will give punch a shot too. I went to flop by accident, moved the market down and went with it. That was the only way I could get out consistently.

Interesting I wonder if it adds other factors to those custom settings... and why do they not show which custom setting is preselect for you when it first loads your shot?

Same. I was in the bunker yesterday until the shot limit. I was in a green side bunker. I changed the hit marker to the top of the ball, I kept hitting, and hittting, and hitting, limit. Couldn't get out.

This just happened to me at the greenside bunker at 4 at Chambers Bay. Tried every shot type and no matter what couldn't get out of the bunker.

Did anyone try getting out backwards or sideways? Sometimes IRL there is just no advancing ball even green side.
