TGC Tours (www.tgctours.com)

We posted a big announcement over on the official HB Studios forums - makers of The Golf Club for PC, PS4 and Xb1. I'll copy/paste it here in case it interests any of you folks. Thanks,
Doyley

TGC Tours Executive Team
Founder & Lead Developer: Tim Owens
Web Design: Jeff Reese
Tournament Director: Scott Doyley
Course Design and Submission: Job Fickett, Andre Quenneville
Community Manager: Chris Lane, Scott Wildman
Twitter: TGC Tours (@TGCTours)

The Community asked for it...

Kulch said: "This game lacks progression and if there isn't a career mode, at least create a robust competitive golf game. Random 18 hole courses don't count. We need tours with stats progression."
GrafUlrich88 said: "The ability to have a club you can play with is [an] important aspect of any golf game. I don't want to just play it alone and not be part of a group. Only in a career mode do I want single player aspects. Golf is more enjoyable when you can share the experience with your friends and family."
Antiparosjez said: "There seem to be loads of daft courses made by people who've never picked up a golf club, obviously. (I) think the forum here and Pocketscout website [are the] only ways to go."
DoGgzbollox said: "I would [probably] go as far as saying thank god for Doyley and CLV for the tours and tournaments they have created, because without them I would barely play at all...so, any plans at all for career mode?"
MikeJerome said: "The search feature for finding courses seems to be very limited."
Morden44 said: "One thing that I and many others liked about EA Tiger Woods was the aspect of being able to form your own club within the game and to have tournaments just within the club. Is this a possibility in The Golf Club?"
TurbineSeaplane said: "Are there any plans for a revamped interface to find and filter courses from within the game? I was browsing last night and I feel like it showed me that there were like 15,000+ courses? (could this be right?)"
Criticalacclaimix said: "I think this game would benefit by having a career mode different from what [EA Sports] Tiger Woods had."
Shoehorn said: "I used to go on to the course discovery section and most of them were worthwhile but [now] the majority are really poor. There are obviously examples where really good courses are being made and the standard is clearly rising but the section now appears to be saturated. Surely we need a better system to see what courses are good or bad?"

and TGC Tours has DELIVERED! After months of development, we are pleased to announce . . .

TGC TOURS (www.tgctours.com)

Lots of golf, sweat, and tears went into the creation of www.tgctours.com, and it’s now time to open the doors and let you (PC, PS4, XB1, golfers, designers) in!

What is TGC Tours?
TGC Tours is many things, but first and foremost it is a community for all TGC players and designers. We have events for all types of golfers – the highly skilled golfer, the scratch golfer, or the weekend golfer – regardless of your skill or competitive nature, there is a tour out there for you!

For course designers, we need you as much as you need us! We will have over 200 tournaments each year, and those tournaments need courses on which to be hosted! We are proud to announce that designers can submit their courses to be played on any event on any of our tours. The TGC Tours team will then select the best submission to host that event.

In the near future there will also be Country Clubs you can join. There, you can form a camaraderie with your fellow club members – then go out and try to win your official club championship and participate in our annual Tavistock Cup.

We will strive to be a place where the golfer and designer can come together and enhance the overall TGC experience for the entire community!

The Tours
Qualifying School
The initial Qualifying School will determine who earns PGA Tour and Web.com Tour cards. It will be played over six rounds at six different courses (with no cuts), and will be our first official TGC Tours event. Those of you joining now will have to complete the same Q-School those that came before you played. You will then be placed on a tour based on your score.

PGA Tour
This tour will mimic the real PGA Tour on a week-by-week basis. When the pros are playing The Masters Tournament in April, so will TGC Tours. When the FedEx Cup playoffs start for the real PGA Tour, it will also start on TGC Tours. Each tournament will follow its real life counterpart's rules and regulations. That means cuts after the 2nd round, FedEx Cup points and purse money. You can also crossover and play in European Tour events.

European Tour
This tour will mimic the real European Tour on a week-by-week basis. When the pros are playing The Masters Tournament in April, so will TGC Tours. When the Race to Dubai playoffs start for the real European Tour, it will also start on TGC Tours. Each tournament will follow its real life counterpart's rules and regulations. That means cuts after the 2nd round and purse money. You can also crossover and play in PGA Tour events.

Web.com Tour
This tour is split up into 3 flights. You will be playing to get promoted to the PGA Tour. Battlefield Promotion (win 3 times on Web.com Tour) is one way to get promoted up. Other ways include finishing in the top 10 on the money list at the end of the season, finishing high enough in the Web.com Finals (last 4 events - limited PGA Tour cards available) or earning a sponsor’s exemption and then finishing well enough to earn your card. The gaps in the real Web.com schedule will filled with minor events on TGC Tours.

Champions Tour
This Tour consists of 2 flights. This is the only Tour without a cut after the 2nd round. It is a good place to hone your skills before promotion to the Web.com Tours. It will mimic the real Champions Tour schedule but during off weeks we will be filling in with made up tournaments.

A lot of effort looks to be put into this. I am intrigued.

I signed up, too... Looks exciting! I only downloaded the game last night and haven't gotten to play yet but plan on trying out a couple of the Q Courses tonight. Got a coworker to sign up too!
