The Golf Club - General Discussion Thread

This is just a thread to chat about the game and also set up rounds/tournaments/practice tours/events/etc with other players. If the mods don't want this - feel free to remove it.

I'll start the fun with announcing I am starting up a 4-round practice 'tournament' called OS Practice Event 1 - it consists of 2 rounds on Castle Creek followed up by 2 rounds on The Whitecliffs at Yetis Cove.

I want to test some settings on this tournament so the SCOUT CAMERA will be off but all else will stay on. I made it private so if any of you who don't have me as a friend - feel free to add and join in! PSN: iliv3forthis_

This 'tournament' lasts five days. Goodluck!

I am not brave enough to do that, the graphics, to me, aren't quite good enough to read the subtle breaks, at least on the xb1. I think the green grid is almost a necessary evil. If the graphics were super smooth, then I might try it.

Re: The Golf Club - General Discussion Thread

When I play golf in the real world, I have trouble reading greens. Hence the reasons why I leave the green grid off. I sank way too many long putts with it on, too unrealistic for my tastes.

Re: The Golf Club - General Discussion Thread

I'll give it a good run. I'm down for different tours - different events. It also allows for more courses to be played? Ranging difficulties I mean.

Yeah, I feel you.

I probably won't start it for a while anyway. I still am shooting very high scores with the green grid off. Funny thing is my short game is the main problem not the putting.

I haven't looked at how many courses you can have in the tour yet. I want to pick random courses from what people on my friend list have played. Not sure about the max number of events. The official PGA tour has 45 this year, but that is a lot to ask from people. Hell, I don't even know if I can commit to that. Probably something around 15 events I was thinking.

Re: The Golf Club - General Discussion Thread

Well - shorter is always better in some ways. If the interest is there, we can carry on multiple seasons - rather than one, long, drug out year. Ya know?
