The Golf Club Review (PC/XB1)

Much like the real game of golf, creating it’s digital counterpart can be difficult and frustrating, but extremely rewarding when you hit the sweet spot. Trying to emulate the tension of needing to knock a wedge close to the pin from 125 yards out in a video game is not easy, but that’s exactly what developer HB Studios is trying to do.

In a year in which video game golf fans thought they were going to be denied country club membership, a small Nova Scotian developer has jumped in to fill the void. Now the question is, have they drilled a 40-foot putt, or left just short of the cup?

I tried it and just got my money back from Microsoft. Not my cup of tea, I love golf and golf games, but this just wasn't for me. I recommend if you really have to have a golf game before EA puts out their game, then get it. If you can wait, wait. Just my 2 cents, but to everyone who enjoys the game, more power to you and I hope you have fun!

The gameplay is every bit of tiger woods but better. The course creator allows infinite courses.

Not sure how anyone could choose EA sports IF they want a simulation over arcade.

If you're looking for boosts, power ups, stale and repetitive announcers, and fancy broadcast overlays then, no, this isn't for you.

However, if you're looking for a "real" golf experience where the playing field is much more equal with a collection of 2000+ (and growing) unique courses and the ability to create your own, then TGC is for you.

I've been playing golf games on PC and console since the early 90's. I've put more time into this game in a short few months than I ever did with the others. Truly an outstanding game!

I don't care for golf in real life or in video games, but if I did then I would buy this game in a heart beat. It looks authentic to the real game and the graphics look really good also.

Re: The Golf Club Review (PC/XB1)

I can't wait to get home shoot 5-6 over and love every minute of it. What irked me about the tiger woods series is that 12 under was a BAD round on most courses, even on higher difficulties. I want there to be a marked difference between difficult courses and easy courses. Then I can't wait to dive in and create my own courses and just let my imagination run wild. A par 5 with an Island green that would be very difficult to stick in 2, making the smart play to lay up, but not impossible if the aggressive player wants to give it a go. I can make that if I want to, and I will, amongst anything else my mind can conjure up.
