I can see where that would inject a lot of confusion into the mix. It's a shame though because when I've played 'live' multiplayer on the PC version, with turn-based play enabled and no voice communication. Everything looks and is executed pretty well. The sequencing looks right. The most annoying part of it to me is having to wait out that sweeping camera shot as its panning toward the swing camera view, from somewhere off in the distance. I guess the best option if you're pressed for time and still want a quasi-multiplayer experience is to enable turn-based play while playing against a 'ghost' ball. As soon as your shot is finished, the ghost player is locked and loaded and plays with no delay. I use that more than I thought I would in the PC version, expecially on a new course.

Unless they've added something to the final game that wasn't in Early Access, that is correct.

Yeah, this is probably my biggest issue with the game right now (keeping in mind I haven't tried a live multiplayer match, so I can't speak for the the delay others are experiencing, though I'm sure that will be a major bummer, too). But as it stands now, if you're not connected online, you have really only one option -- playing a single round.

On a brighter note, however, when I got disconnected from their server after hitting my tee shot on a hole last night, it automatically saved my progress and I was able to resume right where I left off when I got reconnected.

A 10+ second chat delay? Ouch! That doesn't help promote multi-player at all. That's half the fun, chatting while playing.

Not a chat delay, a 10 second delay in the opposing player hitting the actual shot, and seeing it on screen.

hmmm...some good some bad initial impressions, which is to be expected. the game prob wont wow in every aspect but if the gameplay and social experience is positive, this game will last. looking forward to the 25th, lets go time.
