First impressions, a few questions

Just picked up TW 11 and spent a (long) lunch break playing around with it.

After creating my golfer (no xp), I played 18 at Greenbrier at tour pro and true vision on. I shot -1 with three birdies and two bogeys. Missed a few fairways, missed a few greens. It's a very easy course.

I'm an average tour pro golfer at best, and the new version definitely felt more difficult. True Vision makes aiming feel a lot "looser," which is a good thing. Putting (my strength) also seems much harder. I made only one putt outside of 15 feet.

So I'm pleased, but I'm also confused about a couple of features. Are the camera and ball trail broken options? I want presentation cam and no ball trail, but after I choose these options I always have the follow cam with ball trail. Are those options locked with True Vision?

Also, is the ability to move the ball right and left in the pre-shot mode also gone in True Vision? If playing draws and fades is now reliant on my swing (which is realistic, of course), then the difficulty level just went way up for me.

Thanks for posting. As far as the fades and draws relying on the swing... I hope so and I beleive that is the case from watching on of the Wii vids.
Can't wait to get home to try it.

Can you play course in different seasons? Like instead of it always being summer you can choose fall or spring?

TrueAim is locked as is and they are hoping to patch the game to allow users to turn the ball trail off.

Fades and draws are done prior to the shot when you are zoomed out, hit the L1 or R1 bumpers.

Re: First impressions, a few questions

I was trying TrueAim this morning and had one question as well. Is there anyway to find out what the max distance the club you are using is or do you just have to know what that distance is? When I don't have TrueAim on the box in the lower left will tell me for instance my driver has a 100% distance of say 250y. Just wondering if I am missing something with TrueAim.

Re: First impressions, a few questions

That's twice I've seen someone post they could see their club distance using true aim. I swear I could see mine last night.... Or maybe I'm going nuts...which is probably so.

Will check when I get home...

I think the point of true aim is that it's supposed to give you the feeling of really being out on the course and by just giving carrying distances you are simulating that feeling even more as that's what real golfers do on the tour, they go by carrying distance not rolling distance, and increases the strategy which is great.
