Tiger Woods 10 vs. Tiger Woods 09

My two buddies and I ar trying to pick up a golf game. Never been too into the series, as I was turned off long ago with the first next gen TW game. We've been playing the hell out of the 10 demo and love it, but as broke college kids we better damn well be convinced before making a $60 purchase.

Question is simple: worth getting 10 or should I wait until TW09 price drops a lot? I've tried to look up the various features on both, but its still difficult for me to figure out what are the distinct differences, other than this live tournament stuff. Would we still be able to do a league/tournaments together? Is the difference between these two games going to be that monumental?

Get 08, in my opinion its a better game than 09 and cheap. I play 08 all the time. If you enjoy it then buy 10.

Thanks for the reply. I forgot to mention our other buddy who owns 09, and wants us to get it so we can play with him. He lives on the other side of the country so we can't get our hands on 09 and play it for ourselves, so which game we should get.

I guess a more specific question would be what can I do online in 10 that I can't do in 09?

Quite alot...a quick search of this Golf forum can give you a ton of information. If online play is really important, I think TW10 would be worth the wait over TW09 any day....

New Online Features in 10 compared to 09

- Live Tournaments (The ability to play Tour Pro EVERY day)

- You can now set wind and weather conditions online. You can set Calm, Breezy, Windy or Gale Force winds and you can also have Sunny, Cloudy, Light Rain, Heavy Rain and Live Weather

- Green Hardness now comes into play a lot more. In 09, all greens were soft online. In 10, they range from Soft to Very Hard depending on the Green Speed. If you select Slow, they'll be soft greens, Very Fast and they'll be Very Hard greens

- Powercaps still available

Unfortunately it looks like you shoudl still buy Links 04 & have the best golf game on the market. Should set you back $1.49 if you can find a copy.

I didnt think that many people played links, thats is still IMO on of the best golf games ever made
