Re: ***The Official Football Manager Thread***

One more game to go before my perfect season is complete Killed Villarreal thanks to a Sergio Busquets brace. Messi and Ibrahimovic scored again too. Ibra has 34 league goals and Messi at 27. 3 more games left - league game, CL Final against Real Madrid, and Copa del Rey Final against Valladolid.

Treble hopes very much alive and my summer signings all in place with Cesc and Jovetic joining. Not going to sign anyone else...

Re: ***The Official Football Manager Thread***

So I'm roughly a week into the January 2010 transfer window.

There has been a lot of excitement so far. I agreed a deal to sell Robbie Keane to Barca (of all clubs) for £12.75M! Except Keano came back to me asking that Spurs pay £47K/week of his salary through 2013, in order to make up for the lower salary Barca offered. I told him to go screw off..... Now I'm stuck with a pissed off Keane on my bench.

He truly became expendable when I secured Artem Milevski, for around £12M (he scored 5' in on his debut in the cup tie replay with Huddersfield, and got his brace in the 65', instant impact). I think this will be a really good move for my club. Pavy is scoring goals by the boatload, & he & Artem will give me a nice duo up front.

My best move may have been beating out Villareal to sign Rafael Vander vaart, for a cut rate fee of £6.5M! Real Madrid just basically let him walk away. I couldn't refuse him for that price, even if he doesn't play a major role I could sell him on & make a tidy profit. But I do expect him to feature in my squad quite a bit, pushing Modric to the left MF role, leaving me with Krancjar on the bench (I plan on rotating all three between the LMF & Center AMF roles).

I also snapped up Derby's Miles Addison for £4.5M. I probably overpaid for him, but he's young & can develop into either a CB of DMF. He's labeled as the next Lampard to boot! I really wanted Jack Rodwell, but Everton rejected a £8M deal.

Possibly on the way out to fund all these incoming players are the following:

Beniot Assou-Ekotto- Real Madrid has a £12.5M offer on the table, City is offering £13.5, I may try to get £15M.

Keane- I want him gone.

Giovani Dos Santos- He is transfer listed & loan listed. I keep getting £500k loan offers from Turkish clubs.

Crouch- He is unhappy about lack of playing time so I transfer listed him. He is not needed, and I'd probably take £10M for him without hesitating.

Lennon- Offers are out there for him, but I don't want to sell him. I would consider it if the price were right (£20M+ range?).

I have depth at CB, and Otamendi is playing great, and Addison can provide cover at CB in less important matches. That means I can afford to offload either Woodgate (would like to keep him, he's bagging goals off corners like it's his destiny, 3 so far in his last 10 matches), Dawson or Ledley.

I'm possibly looking at bringing in Srna, which means Hutton or Corluka could be on the way out. Srna will probably cost too much though, so this is unlikely.

Jenas- He has been playing well all year, albeit in limited action. I would consider letting him go for the right price.

And lastly, I would like a younger keeper for the future, and the way Huddersfield's Alex Smithies played against me in our first cup tie (MoM, 15 saves, stopped 5 clear cut chances), he is my number one target right now.

I would like some suggestions for other good, younger keepers for the future.

Did not make it out of 2015 Copa America group of death, and resigned afterwards; BECAUSE BOB BRADLEY FINALLY FIRED AS USA COACH; I APPLIED AND GOT JOB, FINALLY!! whitesox will now how long I have been waiting for this chance. Start run for WC 2018, will let you guys know who is on squad still, and new faces. I know I have 2 players on chelsea squad that are on squad, Dempsey and Spector.
Well mid-season, december 2015, after having slow start i get message from BBC saying if I lose to wigan that I will be let go; sure enough went man down in match and lost 3-1. Left game, and no longer Chelsea coach, no message or anything, haha. So know just Team USA coach, starting up WCQ for 2018; will see possibilities in summer for professional club jobs.

Depends on how much you want to spend, but here's who I'd recommend:

On a budget:

Silviu Lung Jr. (need Romania loaded)

Alphonse Areola - PSG Under 19's. Great prospect who could be world class

Vicenzo Fiorillo - Sampdoria. Good Italian Prospect

These guys below will cost a lot of cash, but are excellent keepers:

Rene Adler
Hugo Lloris
Igor Akinfeev
Neuer

Going into 2017, I got Team USA cruising, for final 3rd phase of WCQ. Also just accepted Real Madrid job, should be cool

That's not a bad group, considering what it could have been.

Re: ***The Official Football Manager Thread***

Just achieved the double with my 5th win against Real Madrid this season:

All that's left now is the Copa del Rey Final against lowly Valladolid and hello Treble!!!
