RIT Shows Out Against Nevada

October 1

Nevada -- 35
Rhode Island Tech -- 55

Another game that I’d say went pretty well. Again, we were winning by enough that I felt comfortable with putting in my backups. We thrived on the running game today even without Antsin Mapantz and without Pikaroo Oofsey, the backup, for about a half. Kingsly played very well, and to be honest he should have had five passing touchdowns. There were two where the receiver’s went down at the half yard line that led to rushing touchdowns and one that should’ve been caught by the receiver but was dropped. The two picks were just stupid mistakes by me, stuff I can easily fix by not being an idiot, although that seems to be tough for me to not be. Beautiful win that will hopefully give us momentum as we head to Indiana to face the number one team in the country in Notre Dame. Pray for me.

Crawfish Can’t Handle Powerhouse Notre Dame

October 8

Rhode Island Tech -- 42
#1 Notre Dame -- 77

Once again I got mercied in the first half, but this one isn’t nearly as embarrassing. This is the number one team in the country with 99 offense and defense. I had a better chance of winning against the Jets. Kingsly played pretty good once again. I don’t know how but Pikaroo had two receiving touchdowns in the sim, one being 91 yards and the other being 60. Apparently I need to throw more HB Screens. The defense obviously didn’t play great, but, again, didn’t expect much. We have Uconn at home before a much needed bye week. If we could enter that bye week at 3-4 I’d be very pleased with the team.

Team Stats:
Rhode Island Tech:

Rushes - Yards - TDs: 24 - 34 - 1

Re: Let's Go Craws! An Impossible Rhode Island Tech Dynasty

RIT Takes It To Uconn

October 15

Connecticut -- 7
Rhode Island Tech -- 27

A beautiful game on both sides of the ball leaves me very pleased. There were a couple drives where the offense sputtered out in or near the red zone that resulted in a field goal and a missed field goal, but it was still a very good game for the Crawfish offense. At the end of the day, though, 30 first downs speaks for itself. Oh, and 485 total offense isn’t half bad either. Defensively we were again pretty stout. Not a lot through the air for the Husky offense and even less on the ground for them. The only thing that could’ve been better was forcing a turnover or two, which we did not do this game. But, 4-14 on third down and only one red zone trip given up on the day speaks for itself.

Team Stats:
Connecticut:

Rushes - Yards - TDs: 18 - 55 - 0
Passing Yards - TDs: 170 - 1
Total Offense: 225
3rd Down Conversion: 4-14 (28%)

2 Point Conversion: 0-0 (0%)

Rhode Island Tech:
Rushes - Yards - TDs: 47 - 211 - 3
Passing Yards - TDs: 274 - 0
Total Offense: 485
3rd Down Conversion: 9-15 (60%)
4th Down Conversion: 0-0 (0%)
2 Point Conversion: 0-0 (0%)
Red Zone - TD - FG: 7 - 3 - 2

Craws Dismantle SMU

October 29

SMU -- 13
Rhode Island Tech -- 52

What a win for the Craws. This one was big, especially considering SMU has a 90 rated offense. Their defense is lackluster, and we did what we were supposed to do and then some, but the effort from the RIT defense today was inspiring. Four picks and only one touchdown given up. That is stellar and it doesn’t matter what team you’re going against. Every single person on this team played good. There is not one person I can look at and say ‘man, he sucked.’ Even the special teams units played amazingly. This was nearly a perfect game. I just hope we can keep this going for the rest of the year. If we can then we might be able to go up to three stars next season.

Team Stats:
SMU:

Rushes - Yards - TDs: 19 - 122 - 1
Passing Yards - TDs: 297 - 0

Crawfish Handle Business In Durham

November 5

Rhode Island Tech -- 45
Duke -- 35

Another sound game for the most part. The offense started out red hot in the first half. They sputtered out a little in the third quarter, but they were able to score two TDs in the second half to ice the game. The same could be said for the defense. Started out looking good, had a not very good third quarter, then shut out the Blue Devils in the fourth quarter. Even the special teams got in on the fun with a California Sun 100 yard kick return TD. Overall it was a great thing to see us open a game well and hold off a legit comeback effort. Next week we face Georgia which will be no easy task, but maybe we can compete with the effort we’ve been giving lately.

Re: Let's Go Craws! An Impossible Rhode Island Tech Dynasty

Georgia Cruises To Victory Over RIT

November 12

Rhode Island Tech -- 9
#9 Georgia -- 58

Another game against a 99 overall team, and once again they’re too much to handle. It’s not that this came as a surprise, but the offensive performance was a little bit underwhelming. We scored all nine points in the first half, but at least two of those drives stalled out that should’ve resulted in touchdowns instead. It’s those little things that swing the momentum of the game and make decent teams good. Defensively it was really bad, but it’s not coming as a shock. At the end of the day we’re improving, but we’re not on that level yet. Next week we can become bowl eligible which should then lead to us going to three stars, though I’m not 100% sure on that. Nonetheless, next week is must win so we can try and avoid the chance of going back down to one star.

Team Stats:
Rhode Island Tech:

Rushes - Yards - TDs: 28 - 107 - 0
Passing Yards - TDs: 172 - 0

Re: Let's Go Craws! An Impossible Rhode Island Tech Dynasty

Crawfish Get Quadruple Overtime Victory On Senior Night

November 19

Ohio -- 44
Rhode Island Tech -- 50

This game should not have been anywhere near this close. Ohio came in at 3-7 and hasn’t played good all season. Yes, they are a better overall than us, but so is everybody else in the country. The Craws took an early lead and held it going into the fourth quarter. Then Ohio scored 14 unanswered to tie the game up. We then took a four and a half minute drive to go and score a touchdown that looked like it would win the game. But my crappy stick skills let up a 52 yard reception, and the drive ended in a touchdown. Both teams scored a field goal in the first overtime, a touchdown in the second overtime, and a field goal in the third overtime. Then RIT came out on defense to start the fourth overtime with a huge first down sack. Ohio ended up getting sacked again, so far back that they had to go for it on fourth and very long because they were out of field goal range. The Crawfish offense came back onto the field and ended up scoring a touchdown to win the football game and become bowl eligible for the first time in school history. I don’t know how exactly this game works as in if we get six wins then we automatically get a bowl game, but if we do get a bowl game then we should move up to three stars which would help fast track this team to being good via recruiting.

Team Stats:
Ohio:

Rushes - Yards - TDs: 44 - 149 - 1
Passing Yards - TDs: 308 - 4
Total Offense: 457
3rd Down Conversion: 7-15 (46%)
