There are a lot of good ideas to be found around the forums depending on what you're looking for. A lot of people are looking for a realistic, organic experience. There's a thread about that on the first page of the NCAA board right now.
What I think people should be comfortable about and understand is that what they want and are doing are typically the same thing. You're saying you want to play a long-term dynasty. Except after three games, you're done. I would say this, without judgement, and that is, no you don't want to play a long-term dynasty. Because you're not. I highly doubt that it is just some small tip or trick that will get you to do that. You have to want to do it.
I try to pay attention to this myself as someone who is doing a long term, heavily geeked-out dynasty that requires a lot of time. Sometimes I tell myself hey I want to go do some dynasty stuff. And then I think, do I really? Or do I just want the next game report DONE? Do I actually want to spend an hour to do it? Separating these two ideas has been a big key to not getting burnt out on it.
Even if you're not doing the dynasty reporting or any in-depth corresponding work like putting it on Youtube, I suggest analyzing: Do you REALLY WANT TO or do you like the idea of it? I think if you really wanted to, you'd be doing it. Just have to be honest with yourself, and then if you find that you really do... Then just do it. Stick with it whether you feel like it or not. Press through for a full season and see if it leads you to having fun.
Best of luck!
