(My first season I made a coach named David Green to coach the Broncos)

ESPN news: David Green fired after missing playoffs with Broncos. The expansion franchise Texans have hired him at head coach for four years and will give him GM powers for the time he is with the Texans.

A draft bust has a second chance with the Texans going into the season, Ryan Leaf is named the starter for the season.

With the season getting closer all the time questions remain for this franchise, can they fill in the holes in O-line?, will they be able to win?, and many more haunt the Texans this first season.

Week 1:Cards vs Texans 22-6 Cards

The game started off well with a long Leaf TD to Francis St.Paul(We went for 2 because they had 8 from a safety and two FGs) and stayed good until the second half when we made mistake after mistake

Leaf finished 6 for 25 1 TD 2 ints and 136 yards 4 sacks and rushed for 4 yards on 5 attempts.
Mike Anderson finished the day with 16 yards on 10 attempts.
No noteworthy defence.

With Leaf getting almost no protection the Texans are looking into linemen to anchor the O-line and give Leaf some time to pass.

Week 5: ESPN Sports Center: Breaking news!
After a great start to the season(8 Tds 3 ints 4 wins and 59% comp) Ryan Leaf is injured and not expected to return anytime soon. Second string QB Mike McMahon will start in place of Leaf

David Green on the injury of Leaf: "Things happen that you don't plan for, however we will not let it slowdown our season. Leaf is still the starter if he gets back this season and we hope to have him back by the playoffs."

Can the Texans keep rolling on with the 4-1 start without Leaf or will McMahon destroy the Texans first season?

Week 9: McMahon Benched after losing all games he started in and a 6/11 TD to Int ratio. Giovanni Carmazzi to start at QB for rest of season OR until Leaf returns(Which may not happen at all this season)

Texans are 4-5 at this point.

Week 14: Leaf confirmed out for remainder of season. Giovanni has thrown for 6 TDs and 0 ints on the season for a 100.4 QBR but the Texans are 4-10

David Green on the performance: "If he keeps up this level of play Ryan Leaf and him may have to compete for a job during training camp."

Week 16(Madden 02 only goes to 16 before the playoffs) After getting 6 TDs Giovanni had a 0 TD game in week 15 and a 6 int game this week. Many Texans fans are divided over who should start Leaf or Giovanni, David Green has said he will go with the one who preforms better in training camp.

Texans finish the season 4-12 and miss the playoffs. Texans to keep David Green after this season.
