allright, i know some of you are gonna want to use Finn's new Restore option in the editor to get the players original rating back, but if you do, it'll screw up the rating for player edited over the original players, so it may be a good idea. ex. if i edited a 60 overall player into a 90 overall player, and changed his name to someone else, it would restore his rating back to 60

I don't think it would. If the names don't match, the player won't be restored...At least that is the way I understand it.

no, it does it by player id. name doesnt matter, nor does anything else. just player id

From Finn's site:

All players that exist in both files (in name and index) would be restored to their original attributes.

That leads me to believe that the name must match as well. To test, I set Torrie Cox's (a player you created) attributes to all zero. I restored from the default roster and his attributes stayed at all zero. I did the same thing to Peppi Zellnar (looks like he used to be some one else) and his attributes stayed at zero as well after a restore.

I don't get what you guys are saying exactly about the restoring device. What would we all gain from something that resets the rosters? Please explain??
