if you start out on the Injured Reserve it means out for the season right. So what is the the physically unable to perform list. Should I cut the players on IR. I know I asked this before.

Reaserve - PUP means you're IR untill week 6

i dont know about Active - PUP

EDIT: i could be wrong on this, but i know that either Active-PUP or Reserve-PUP means your out until at least week 6

Exactly. To be put on the PUP list, you have to have not been able to participate in camp. If you are put on the PUP squad, a roster spot is reserved for you without taking up a spot on the 53 man roster. Whenever the player returns whenever better after week six, someone must be cut from the roster in order to free up a spot.

IR is for anyone who is out for the season. Their roster spot is then free for someone else to take up.

These are all in contrast to anyone else with an injury, who may be listed as inactive for a week or so, but are still taking up a spot on the 53 man roster.
