Just my two cents because it's been discussed here before: I think you should just leave it at opening week like db56. If people really want to update it to Week 6 or 7 or whatever, then it should be up to them. The fact is that the community is so small, what is more useful across the board is to have them ready for a new season. Unless you feel like doing it for every week throughout the year. But if I can make a request, I'd rather you didn't ever get rid of that start of season roster. There are literally about three rosters for last year and now only two for this year. If none of them were opening day, in a few years time, they'd be sort of pointless if they were only from Week 7. Just thinking back to rosters from five years ago and how pointless they'd be if they were from a particular week rather than the start of the season. Well, for those of us that play older years anyway. Like I said, just my two cents.

Shout out to db56 for the roster files
I'm actually already doing this. Collected the Player data in JSON format from:
https://www.easports.com/madden-nfl/player-ratings

I have a few programs that help automate the process.
It is however difficult to get info on appearance (skin color, face...).

That data however can be pulled from a gamesave (using nfl2k5tool) and used in the conversion process. So, if you've updated the appearance for all the players in this save file, I can use it in the conversion process.

This file has the Conversion logic in it:
https://github.com/BAD-AL/MaddenConv...er/MainForm.cs
function "ConvertPlayerFromMadden2018()".

Yes, '.cs' indicates that it is a C# source file. My favorite language to write in.

Microsoft actually distributes a free version of Visual studio (Visual Studio Express) if you are interested in contributing. You may also be able to get a 'Professional' version through your University for free.

Wow!! This is dope. Now Is there a tutorial or something to get started? Same question for the stats also?

Hey guys, I came back here to read this again and I'm a little lost... What is it exactly you guys are gonna try to do, then? Take the players ratings from Madden 18 to use here in 2K5?

In this roster, what has been updated?
All players (with all equipment, skin, pbp, photos...)?
Only some teams?
