If the game is unable to load your save, it is because it got corrupted on the transfer to/from your PC through action replay, not because the editor did something. The editor may cause you game to lock up depending what and how much you edit (at least it used to) but it never stopped the saves from loading.

As for what you can do: He made some mention at 2kHockey.net that he only implemented things that you couldn't change in the game and allowed for global attribute editing.

you can make roster moves, you can move player to the assign players to there new team, you just can't release players, if Finn can find away to fix the editor where you can release players that would be great.
