Week 8

****Jags 27 Broncos 3****

Game started off with Denver playin some tough D and makin tha Jags stall in Broncos territory. On Denver's opening drive they took tha ball down field nicely. Jags D tightens up and Broncos settle for tha fg to take an early 3-0 lead.

After that tha Jags offense really hadn't gotten anything going yet, but tha Jags D stepped up and got 2 early turnovers that tha Jags managed to turn into 10 points.

Tha momentum shifted towards tha Jags after those t.o.'s and Denver never really got back into tha game after that. Jags got a couple more scores 2 bring tha final to 27-3, but tha game was closer then tha score looked.

Brasil played a good game if it had not been 4 a couple t.o.'s i think tha score woulda been closer. gg man

WEEK 7 OSFL
CHIEFS VS BUCS

The bucs in a must win game at home against a surging chiefs team
the game looked like it was going to be a shootout with both teams
basically taking the ball down the field like a walk in the park
the chiefs on a priest holmes explosion for 41 yards put the chiefs
the board first. the bucs come right back with a well called drive
to even the score at 7 with a mike"a-train" alstott 1 yard plunge.
After that the defenses took over for the next two quarters that were
dominated be each teams linebackers making big stops against the run and
forcing both teams to look elsewhere for offense. The only scoring opportunity
came for the chiefs late in the second quarter when a lawrence tines field goal
was blown off course by the bay breeze. In the third quarter the bucs
behind some great passing by brian griese move the ball down into the chiefs
redzone but a timely pick by Julian Battle in the endzone stops that drive.
and all is well until the defenses head for a early trip to the beach as the
teams combined for 24 fourth quarter points. The chiefs get things rolling with
a tynes field goal to take a 10-7 lead which at that point looked to be enough
to win especially after brian griese gets knocked out of the game with 4:46 to play.
Simms calmly leads the bucs down the field for a touchdown with the help a a
controversial pass interference penalty on fourth and short. the bucs lead 14-10
Two plays later the chiefs retake the lead on a beautiful pitch and catch from
green to gonzalez to put the chiefs ahead 17-14 with 2:03 left to play. Simms
calmly steps on the field and leads the bucs down the field 75 yards in 6 plays
to put the bucs ahead 21-17 but there were still 46 ticks on the clock and the chiefs
were ready to make things interesting for the home crowd. As they advance the ball to the
bucs 43 before a big sack by greg spires closes the door on a great game good game all
around.

Week 5 (make-up game)

Chiefs 21 *** Colts 16

What started out looking like a lop-sided affair turned into a nail biter at the end with the never say die Colts.

First half was all Chiefs who took a 14-0 lead into the locker room. Chiefs first score came after Dante Hall set them up at midfield after a punt return. 3 plays later, Green goes deep to Kennison for a 50 yard strike. In quarter 2, KC goes on a sustained 10 play drive culminating in another Green to Kennison 9 yd. flag pattern to the right corner of the end zone. Kenninson finished the day leading all receivers with 73.

After a scoreless 3rd quarter which highlighted Mike Doss's 2nd INT of the game, the Colts found themselves at midfield and took only 4 plays to gain their first strike on a 30 yard Manning to Moorehead beauty. Coach Hoosier made a nice adjustment seeing his primary targets getting double teamed most of the game. It took KC only 2 plays to give the ball right back to Manning and co. after a sloppy Green INT, his third of the day. But the Chiefs defense stiffened forcing a 44 yard FG nailed by Vandy. On the ensuing drive, KC intermixed Holmes and the passing corps taking 6 plays that saw Tony Gonzalez barely creeping into the end zone after a Green 16 yard strike at the 2:00 mark giving the tribe a 2 score game.

But the Colts weren't finished. Starting at their own 19 and facing a 4th down and game, Manning found his favorite target giving new life to the crowd. Manning then completed quick strikes to Wayne and Stokely respectively making it 21-16. The 2 point conversion failed on a flat pattern to Marvin as did the following onside kick attempt. Priest Holmes ran twice more to seal the deal and allow KC to run out the clock.

Offensive player of the game clearly goes to Priest Holmes who chalked up 94 rushing yards and 51 receiving yards. Defensive player of the game was unarguably Mike Doss with 2 interceptions and about 100 batted balls! He was the carpet on the Indy turf. 2 possible factors for the outcome was KC managing to have the edge in TOP. Speaking of "Edge", he was held to only 40 yards.

Great game, Gary.....you guys will enjoy playing our newest member. Completely sim all the way!!

Week 7

****Niners 17 - Colts 10****

Colts were hot out of the gate with a long clock killing first Qtr drive capping it off with a pass across the middle to Pollard. With this drive leaving the Qtr less than 2 minutes to go. On the ensuing kickoff SF's Wilson Fumbles the ball deep into their own territory leaving the Niners in a 7-0 hole with the Colts in prime scoring position. Luckily SFs Defense held the Colts to just 3 points limiting the lead to 10-0 in the 2nd Qtr.

SF answered on their next posession with a Drive ending in a Barlow run up the middle for a 1yrd TD.

In the middle of the 3rd SF added a tying 25yrd FG by Peterson leaving the score 10-0.

With 5 min left in the 4th with a hard Defensive 2nd half battle on both sides, SF scores on a 13yrd TD pass to Wilson putting the score 17-10 SF.

Indy had their chances late in the 4th to make the comeback. with just 2 min and change left 4th down and medium for the Colts. Manning throws an incomplete pass to his reciever. However there was a FLAG on the play Facemask call on SF giving the Colts yet another chance. The Colts drove the ball down the field inside the Niner territory looking for the tie. With a 4th and long Manning throws the ball to a wide open receiver Wayne only to have the ball tip off his hands incomplete.

Close game with some costly SF penalties that could have lost them the game. However SF managed to squeek another defensive game win.

WEEK 6 Game: Pittsburgh 21 SF 14

San Fransisco took their opening drive 75 yards down the field and scored on a Tim Rattay pass to Cedric Wilson. Wilson led all receivers on the day with 114 yards on only four catches. Pittsburgh tied the score later in the first quarter on a Ben Roethlisberger 25 yards strike to Plaxico Buress. One more score by the 49ers and they would take a 14-7 lead into the locker room.

The second half started with "Big" Ben throwing one of his two interceptions on the day. San Fransisco couldn't do anyting with it and had to punt. Andy Lee's punt was a beauty....pinning the Steelers back on their own three yard line. Pittsburghs offense was clicking as they moved down the field and put together a long drive that took them into the fourth quarter. The long 97 yard drive was capped off by a Duce Staley TD run of seven yards to tie the game.

SanFransisco would again have to punt as the "Blitz"burgh Steelers defense came up big in the second half. Bettis got the game winners from three yards out and then the defense did the rest. Sacking Rattay five times...three by Joey Porter.

All in all it was a good, hard played game on both sides. In the end, the Steeler defense was too much for the niners. A few dropped passes by SF receivers at the end didn't help them either.

GG Golden. Maybe we'll meet again.

Re: OSFL Game Results Reporting thread

***Week 8 ***

Chiefs ~ 27 --- 49ers ~ 11

The game started out as a bit of a jousting match, but the end of the 1st Q. was the beginning of first of three 10+ play drives which ended in a 3 yard Holmes scamper into the end zone. SF came right back on the next drive which stalled, but resulted in a 46 yd FG making it 7-3 in the 2nd Q. But the Chiefs ended the quarter the way they started it with another sustained drive which began at the KC 20. Holmes just eeked his way in for pay dirt with 4 ticks left on the clock. Halftime score: 14-3.

With the Chiefs receiving beginning the second half, they wasted no time extending their lead when on the sixth play on the drive, Green found Morton for a 62 yard strike increasing the Chief lead to 21-3. Forcing the 9ers to think more pass than run, the Chiefs secondary were able to sit back resulting in a Warfield INT around the 4:00 mark of the 3rd. The Chiefs played conservative and settled for a 39 yarder. A late TD in the 4th brought the score up to 27-11, but a failed onside kick with time running out, the 9ers simply ran out of chances as well.

Green finished 11/15 for 166 as the Chiefs were mainly able to keep the ball on the ground featuring Holmes who went 18 for 110 and 2 TD's before he got his bell rung for the second time of the game and had to be escorted off the field, as well as being reminded who he was! Conway led the charge for the 9ers with 76 yds on 3 catches. KC was able to get to Rattay 3 times as the keys to the game seemed to be Chiefs TOP ending in about 4-1/2 mins. more than the red and gold. The early lead also seemed to force the 9ers game plan toward more of the pass.

GG, goldknight.....I'm sure you'll be looking for payback!

Re: OSFL Game Results Reporting thread

*** Week 9 ***
Giants 31 - Steelers 12

Both teams came in to the game needing wins to stay alive for the last playoff spot in the east division. The game started off slow and tight but ended with the giants pulling away on steeler turnovers which lead to pts being converted off those turnovers by the giants.

After the first quater and some time in the second the score was 6-3 steelers up after a giant fg and a steeler touchdown and blocked extra point. Later in the second stanza Roethlisberger in his own territory while making a pass got sacked by Duckett and fumbled the football which was recovered by Strahan. The Giants immediately turned it into a Kurt Warner to Shockey 12 yard touchdown pass. G-men up 10-6

Giants get the ball back later that quarter and score again to make the game 17-6 with a Warner to hilliard 41 yard pitch and catch to the steeler 8 and then another warner to hilliard connection for an 8 yard td pass.

Steelers comeback in the 2nd half with a Roethlisberger to Hines Ward td pass of 35 yards to cut the score to 17-12. Steelers go for the 2pt conversion but fail.

Steelers get the ball back again and make a drive into giants territory where Roethlisberger throws his first pick of the game in the end zone to Gibril Wilson who returned it out 25 yards. This setup a long Warner to Hilliard hook up for a 75 yard td pass. Giants up 24-12.

With a little less than 3 minutes in the game, Steelers try desperately to obtain another score by going for it on 4th down in their own territory, but failed. This lead to a warner to shockey 31 yard touchdown pass to end the game 31-12. Giants score 14 points in 4th to put it away they also had 14 pts off turnovers which helped swing the game.

Re: OSFL Game Results Reporting thread

I hope your not blocking XPT's from the end! That's disallowed and Steelers have the option to protest the game. Seriously.
