PCSX2 Newbie Here

I just recently installed PCSX2 and was looking to play NFL 2K5. I have the original game disc on an OG PS2, but would like to have this on PC. I know about the rom sites being shutdown, but wanted to ask the community if anyone can share some pointers on how I can go about getting a legit playable version for PC? Any advice would be appreciated.

The game was not made for the PC, so there is no legit version.

Re: PCSX2 Newbie Here

PCSX2 reads discs. Stick it in your DVD drive and you can play it off that. You just need to switch "CDVD" from "Iso" to "Plugin" and then it'll use the CDVD plugin to read the disc, assuming you have the proper plugin selected.

If the load times are bothering you, you could also look into software that rips an ISO from your disc and then you can have it read that ISO, but I can't say much on that. I think some version of Windows come with the ability to do this already though?

Thanks for the reply.
Excuse my poor choice of wording, but what I meant was an alternate means of retrieving a copy of the game considering the site shutdowns. I understand the game was never officially released for PC.

Thanks mack.
I was hoping to be able to play without having to constantly load the disc, so if I can rip the ISO, that would be great. Is there any safe software you can recommend? Again, excuse my ignorance as I'm new to this PCSX2 thing.

Hey man,
If you're still looking in getting an iso for Espn Nfl2k5 or emulators questions or whatever.
Found this guy awhile back, he covers a lot on just that kinda stuff.
I haven't had any issue with his content as of yet but like all things take it with a grain salt and a little bit of your own research and use your own judgement of course
There's a recent video that he covers in beginning I believe might help you, by the name of: Safest website for downloading ROMS/EMULATORS (2020)
He goes by the name: UrCasualGamer
Hope this helps, show em some love

Re: PCSX2 Newbie Here

Is there a way to take my PCSX2 2k5 rosters and use them on the 2k5 editor and then transfer them back to PC using PCSX2?

Yes,
You'll need a program called Mymc, DL this as you'll need it to transfer your edited rosters from the 2k5 editor onto your Pcsx2 memory card.
Depending on which roster file you downloaded (Ps2/Xbox file)

For Ps2 (.Max) it can be as easy as DL file from the community, unzip folder with something like Winrar, boot up Mymc and under file open to your Pcsx2 memory card, there should be an import and export function on the main menu of Mymc, hit import and find your edited roster that you've created.
Once this is done it should appear in your directory and you should be good to go.
From there, start up the game head to the load/save/delete game menu and load up and enjoy

Now if were trying to convert an Xbox file to Ps2 file is a process and does require couple more steps and a program called, Ps2 save builder, there's a video by: PSPhombrewGAMES
Under the name: How to convert NFL 2K5 XBOX rosters to PS2 rosters
Just follow this and you'll be good
