Yes I have played NBA2K7. I own it. I play the heck out of the game.

I am just saying that IMO, Madden 2007 isn't that bad of a game. Now is it "next gen"? I don't know. I have yet to see a "next gen" football game. Is it a great game? Hell no. It is lacking features that the current gen game has and that is just ridiculous.

But is it a bad game? To me it isn't. It plays a good game of football. Could it be better? Of course every game could. Could it be worse? Yes it could.

I think that's the problem you're seeing from a majority of people who visit message boards. They're typically the informed gamer, for the most part.

Personally, I'm tired of playing a "decent" football game. I have played a "decent" football game year in and year out, always waiting until "next year" when a game is released. You never see well developed advancements in the the genre, just an additional feature year in and out. I, as a consumer, am tired of it. I am not going to pretend I enjoy a football game that lacks presentation, emotion... hell, FUN... just to say I have a football game. It seems like football is the ONLY sport that I can't find a somewhat realistic interpretation now...

For basketball we have NBA 2k7... a game recently released that's just an amazing title, with "signature style," something I've mentioned will put video games on the next level. I'm happy a company FINALLY implemented this in a serious way... and that's just a portion of it.

With baseball, we had MVP, a game that rose up from the ashes of Triple Play, one of the worst titles I ever had the misfortune of playing. Now, we have MLB07:The Show and quite possibly, MLB 2k7 (although 2k6 was complete TRASH).

What do we have with football? NCAA and Madden football are decent games. But back to my original point: I'm tired of playing a decent game. I know individuals who have talked to some developers at EA who have said in the past, off the record, that they can't put together the game they would like to, because then it would leave a problem for the next iteration the following year. A company shouldn't be holding back when making these games, and that's exactly what happens with Madden. You'd have to be a fool NOT to see it...

And this isn't just ANY company... it's EA f'in Sports. A section of one of the biggest giants in video gaming today. Their title should be the end all football title... not a decent game. I played a decent game every year for the past 3-4 years of my life... I can play a decent game on my PSP. I didn't spend $500 on a system to play a decent game. I played to be knocked off my *** some way and Madden just doesn't do this.
