I play this game exclusively against my two buddies. The settings that I use primarily are 'No Multiple Hot Routes' and 'Performance EQ On'. I max all penalties, play 10 min quarters, etc.

My buddy was sending an all out blitz that I could NOT counter. Draw plays were eaten up. Hot blocking one back was not enough. Then this was revealed: You can HOT BLOCK as many offensive players as you want, you can only HOT ROUTE once (with my settings). If you choose to HOT ROUTE a second receiver, the first one reverts back to it's original route.

HOT BLOCK MORE THAN ONE BACK! I didn't know this! Just thought I'd share this in case someone else is not aware of this.

Still lovin' and learnin' this game (after nearly 500 hours of playing time accumulated) . . .

I don't know why you're using only one hot route option.....realistically in the NFL, assignments for multiple changes will occur to counter overly aggressive teams. I like the notion of how you guys set up your games......but multiple hot routes would be consider simulation oriented football IMO.

BTW....do you guys play in person or on XBL? If XBL, hit me up here or on AIM as myself and another guy play very simulated type games.

My buddies and I agreed on One Hot Route to avoid the temptations of completely changing the way plays are designed to run.

I don't believe that teams audible hot routes for each receiver at the line of scrimmage. Perhaps one, maybe two, but not every eligible receiver.

I guess this is just our way of preventing cheesy tactics (like sending everyone on a fly from a Jumbo formation, etc.

My buddies and I prefer 'in person' games as it allows us to play with our customized/updated rosters. We do, however, play on XBL occassionally.

I'll look for you online sometime and get some games in.

I found that out too.. cause online they do not have multiple hot routes in ranked games... I was playing some guy and he kept blitzing I hot routed two players and they both blocked ...I figured once I had the second guy hot routed the first one would default back to his route..it was useful online cause you can look at the routes and see what each guy is doing...

wish 2k made the game linkable so you could play on two different TVs... we could use custom rosters then..as long as both guys had the same roster file... with xconnect of course
