I wouldnt be surprised if seg and vc went there seperate ways because they probably wnat sale that many copies becasue of the whole liscense deal and they dont sale that many copies in the other sport titles to make up for the lost of the football title.

I also think espn was smart they wanted to associate there name with a game they new for sure that it would sale and with a game they new had for sure had a future

Like i said earlier this time ea didnt do anything wrong if you want to blame somebody its all on espn to what would do people want ea to do not accept espn it not like they brought them out from espn

could the SEGA/VC game say on their box:

"FOMERLY ESPN NLF2K5, now NFL2k6"

or are they restricted from that?

No I don’t play soccer, like I said so I wouldn't know...

The fact remains though, that a game based on customization can survive so long as its gameplay is good... (Keep in mind football (not soccer) is much more popular here so the results would be different then the soccer game, like you said, Fifa outsells here in the US...)

Sega existed on Dreamcast without ESPN... Why because of its gameplay...

B/c there was no competition on the dreamcast!

Forget it. If it wasn't for the recent increase in sales of their sports titles, Sega was going to kill their sports division. It was their developers and their solid games that resulted in SALES that prompted their strategy to partner with ESPN in the first place.

They have nothing left now, unless they go with Fox Sports, which I would have like EA to do instead of ESPN. Only problem is Fox does not cover college sports...

fox does cover sports.

Foxsportsnet covers everything.

Fox sports rocky mountain has college volleyball, college football, NFL games are on normal FOX. FSN even shows NBA.

Spare a thought for the VC programmers and all the guys there who must just be wondering what the future holds. This is their second kick in a matter of weeks.

A Fox license would be perfect since they do broadcast hockey, baseball, football and hoops, both college and pro.

Yeah it can, but the presentation needs to be great also especially that VC doesn't have either license anymore. Now that the ESPN license is gone, I feel they should go after Fox right now. Can you imagine JB, Howie, Terry and Jimmy on the next gen systems?
