Madden is a piece of crap. Now we're stuck with crap for five years!!!! Hey ESPN, please make a college football game!!! We can only hope that EA lures away a few good men from ESPN and have the two companies make one awesome football game!

Hell, I have been boycotting EA since they denied there was a lefty bugin MVP, when I sent them my emails questioning why Griffey and Dunn only had a few HRs. What is another 5 years. I guess I will just play 2k5 for another 5.

I havent bought Madden since 2003 and I doubt I will ever buy it again. I have played 2004 and 2005 but I am tired of it after about 3 games. I will continue to watch NFL games on TV but I don't buy or plan to buy any NFL merchandise.

For everyone that keeps bringing up the hackneyed cliche that "everyone will go buy Madden no matter what you say now" and that 85+% (or whatever fabricated number you decided to use on a whim) will be back here in August discussing Madden, I can tell you that the number will probably be closer to 100% of the discussions on here will be about Madden. Because those of us that stop playing football games (or sports games, or games in general) will simply stop frequenting the site. I only came here in the first place to see what people thought about Madden vs. ESPN, and I have to say the people here are really cool. But ultimately, without much to talk about besides Madden (and the fact that I will be working in a different capacity this time next year where I don't have 2-3 hours a day to check my email/surf the net!!!), I imagine that those of us without the game will simply lose interest in the sports forums - at least during football season. So don't worry, everyone on this board will be talking about Madden next fall. You'll have to meet dissenters in the real world.

Oh, by the way, people don't protest/boycott to impress others, so they don't care if you laugh at them/think they're dumb. And, believe it or not, some of us that work real jobs a) have time to waste posting on this forum (sadly), and b) do get that worked up about videogames. We are the first real generation of guys that grew up playing games, and that doesn't go away once you start working! Although it might for me soon...
