I thought it kinda lost its track after season 2 and never really found it again. Heres a fun exercise though. Watch it with a notepad and every time you have a question about something write it down, then cross something off when it gets answered.

I enjoyed it up to the last season. The way they ended the series was a big letdown for me. But I would definitely recommend watching the whole series.

Re: For Those That Have Watched Lost (Currently on Netflix)

Lots of different answers. All my opinions below:

For me, Season One is worth every minute and has the second best cliff hanger on the show. If I had to choose a season to watch on rewind for eternity, it'd be this season.

Season Two drags on too long in a specific location. I think if there was an end point, it would have been half a season in that place. One of my least favorite seasons for that and a few choice characters that messed up the chemistry. However, despite all this, I think Season Two is the most important in understanding the questions and answers revealed later in the show.

Season Three is half directionless and half amazing. The first two-thirds is not very good with the exception of a great, great opening, but I advise you stick with it because the last third of Season Three (starting with an episode written by Lindelof immediately following the worst episode in the series "Expose") was some of the best television on the show and has the best, BEST cliff hanger in the series.

Season Four was a nice return to the roots of the show with an interesting twist. Probably my second favorite season because the new twist forced you to start thinking again of the characters and their actions and what would come of them. The cliff hanger wasn't amazing to me, but you knew that the next season would be interesting because of it.

Season Five is also very good. Lots of theories being thrown around here by characters. A dramatic shift in the show's premise, but one I thought fit well with the overall plot of the series. The cliff hanger is absolutely insane, probably resulted in the most out of this world theories by viewers and built up Season 6 to beyond reasonable expectations. Still only my third favorite season ending because of its ambiguity, but no denying the anticipation it built up.

Season Six is a disappointment. Would have ruined the show forever had it continued another year. We get our answers (the ones that matter) and are left with many unanswered questions that could only satisfy the most die-hard of fans (which is just about all that was left by this season). 50% of the ending is acceptable. The other 50% should have never even been dreamed of by the creators.

The truth is, if the ridiculous 50% had never been written, the other 50% would have been enough and likely even expanded a bit more to satisfy what the die-hards really wanted to know. Just a lot of wasted film and an underwhelming ending to what is a great series.

Definitely season 3 finale "Through the Looking Glass Parts I and II". I'm 100% sure this is the episode you're mentioning. I don't think there's a Lost fan who doesn't find it to be, at the very least, a top three episode.

Perfect mid-point to the series considering what that episode does to the show from that moment forward.

Re: For Those That Have Watched Lost (Currently on Netflix)

Season 2 is a complete waste for the most part. It introduced a bunch of characters that got into trouble off the set or just wanted out of the show. So what you get is a lot of back stories that contribute nothing to the show.

The show was fun to watch while it was going on and certainly kept me on the edhe of my seat at times, but the ending was Rubbish and will leave a foul taste in your mouth something akin to eating a Rhubarb pie covered in toothepaste with a couple of crayons stuffed in the middle.

The first season was ceinematic genious and the filming and scenes were glorious. Somehow by the last season it looked like they were shooting on the old set of Land of the Lost.....Not the Will Farrell one from a few years ago, I mean the Marshall Will and Holly set from 1970's Saturday morning cartoonland.

Re: For Those That Have Watched Lost (Currently on Netflix)

As much as I disliked the ending of the series it's still a great show. Watching it on DVD/Netflix is definitely the way to go, it doesn't make S2 and the other low points seem as bad or drawn out.

Nothing captured my imagination like this show did for six years. The journey and the way the story is told, while frustrating and seemingly aimless at times, is what makes the show so unique and worth watching. You get sucked into the show in a way no other series ever has for me.

And the Season 3 finale alone is worth watching this series for. The final scene of S3 is IMO - no hyperbole - the best scene in TV history. And maybe I'm a sucker, but Desmond calling Penny, still......
