Ffs, 90% of every bpl game is in the rain
They only had 1 year with this engine and are still making tweaks as is. They didn't have time to add in rain and the effects it would have on the gameplay. It sucks , but honestly I never play in the rain so for me it doesn't matter but I can understand why it would bother some. Imo, its more a you don't care until you lose it for some people lol

And the other 10% is played in snow!

Seems a bit exaggerated, unless you have some stats. Perhaps 50%.

Well similar to what I heard which was the current gen didn't have the necessary resources to sustain the entire engine so they omitted rain until next year. So we'll see rain and the whole shebang on the PS4/X1.

Think of this year as a nice engine demo and that already looks better than that other game.

The stadium thing is not a big deal to me as I hate the Spanish league and don't particularly care about authentic stadiums anyway. If they ever take out the real edit mode, that would be a problem although since I play PES on PC, I'm sure someone would figure out how to edit the real names and teams eventually.

Way to nitpick on a percentage when the point is already clear to everyone. Soccer in europe is played. In the rain, and often.

PES 13 PC modded supports over 60 stadia. I would implore mod geniuses like Dido, Smoke and PES Edit to continue to support at least the rosters for PES13, then. I will not purchase PES14 as a result of this. FIFA wins this upcoming round by default, as it'll be a day one PS4 title.

Re: Pro Evolution Soccer 2014 Ships with Roughly 20 Stadiums, No Stadium Editor or Ra

I was really considering buying PES this year, and still may do, although the loss of rain is a difficult one to take.

Weather in sports games is such a huge factor, and often its such a maligned aspect of the strategy and drama of a game.

I hope when it is brought back, its a bit like weather on Madden 03 (PS2). I have never been so amazed at how variable the weather was in a game. I could have some absolute sodden fields and thunder with dramatic lighting, or I could play in light snow. I could also play in hot weather with wind or a crisp cool evening...

It really diversified the experience and was huge for me. I remember clamouring for it in PES at the time...

The stadium thing is something that I never used to really worry about. As long as some stadiums feel tall and epic enough, like a top level team's stadium should, or they have an intimate one like Old Trafford, as well as some smaller scale stadiums that range in intimacy (loved the Dortmund one way back on PS2 - was it Weidenfeller Stadium?) I will be fine.
I hope that we can still select which stadium is each teams' default, and I've been so out of touch with PES it will be interesting to see how the editor has progressed.

Again, I never minded not having licensed stuff (except for when trying to get players onto national teams and never knowing what to do with the fake named duplicates lol) because I could edit it all and even update to new kits before the next game came out, giving me a whole summer of play too.
This aspect appealed to me less as I got older, as I just did not, and likely will not, have the time to invest in this process as I did before.

Is there any way to have a look at what people have achieved with the editor so as to see if it works well?

Playing the demo for 2013 last year and spanking goals with ease in only 2 (?) mins on the hardest difficulty after not playing PES since PS2 days really put me off... Hoping the game feels smarter and more dynamic with this new engine!

DID EA Sports sign an exclusive licensing deal with Rain? What's next, weather?
