If you are considering PES09 PS2...don't

it is a serious regression. and it is inexcusable...

the game is using the same engine, yet somehow the graphics are worse than WE9, the options are more limited, and i have yet to find an OF that will work.

Be a Legend (also known as 'the reason to buy the game') is nothing to write home about on PS2...no training (i mean, come on...there has been a 'training mode' in every WE/PES....wtf?), no choice of camera angle...

the replays, however, are the real giveaway...watch a replay of a nice goal and look at the god-awful animation and collision physics... WE9 was a big step from WE8, and that was several years ago...this is a disgrace...

I have tried to play FIFA (08), but really can't stand it...the animations and physics are ick...the ball is ******** big...the menus are among the worst i have dealt with...

so, like with American football, I now have no game to play...

Buy a 360 or a ps3 dude. Its worth it.

I can't really swing the PS3s price point at present...

i would rather have music equipment.

i should mention, however, that i misspoke about the one camera angle on BAL...every game play cam is available. mea culpa.

though there is no online...shameful.

i know next gen has its benefits...but for duck's sake, they could have just repackaged WE9 with updated rosters and the skeletal BAL and it would have been better than this.

a good deal of my anger comes from the no OF thing, however....it is by and large crucial to this game's enjoyment.

i will still give it some time, as i would like to try some ML since the game plays at a bit of a slower pace...but i will be on the look out for a used copy of PES2007 (WE10,PES6) and an OF for that...

my understanding is that, for many, this is the best version of the series (those that disagree often argue for WE(/PES5).

It's bizarre that they would make PES 2009 on the PS2 worse than WE:PES 2007 which I played a ton of and really enjoyed.
