Ranked: Equalized Stats only?

So MMAGAME (a fellow gamechanger) ran a poll on his site that asked if ranked should be equalized stats only? For those who dont know what he means: Stats would not matter in this mode. It really wouldnt matter who you chose anymore. It would all come down to your skill.

Now Game has strongly argued for this a while now. Myself and other gamechangers have disagreed. Game's poll shows that more than 70% of his followers want ranked to be equalized stats only. Over a thousand people voted in the poll, so while the number isnt significant when compared to the number of people who bought this game, it is interesting.

So what do you guys think?

Isnt that the point of LEC?

I think that takes the fun out of it since MMA is all about strategy.

Thats his point. He thinks that ranked should be just like the LEC. Quick match should be where who pick plays a role.

Def not.. Maybe in unranked, but it shows even more user skill when you can go up against people with a+ fighters with a c+ and still dominate...

This. Definitely wouldn't want that. Unranked could probably do it, but I love the feeling of beating a guy who only uses champs or top tier fighters with a low tier guy.

Na. Defeats the whole purpose. I love using guys like Sterling, Lee, Felder etc to beat the A rated characters. The only thing with equalized stats is that it would come down to movesets but even then it'd just turn into a jab uppercut hook fest. Can you imagine Bruce Lee with the same ground stats as GSP? No thanks.

Takes away from the individuality's of certain fighters as well. Only perks would change things.

No from me, I’m finally able to have fun using b and c level fighters, even more fun with the extra intensity that ranked provides

Is this really how he worded it? Who you pick wouldn't play a role? Even with equal stats, who you pick would still play a role. If what he was getting at is that it would be nice to have all fighters in each division have an equal threat in their own regards, then I could see that having a bit of steam behind it.
