The biggest issue with the Submission switch mechanic

The green gate should come after the normal gate.

Re: The biggest issue with the Submission switch mechanic

It doesn't.

The way i meant it is this:

"Triangle Choke 5 gates. You pass the first gate, then 2nd gate is the green gate, if you don't hit the green gate to switch to an armbar and you wait, it'll show the blue gate and you'll continue to your 5 gate triangle choke submission. You'll still be on the 2nd gate, but the submission switch comes before the normal submission gate, which makes no sense at all."

Considering that if someone goes for a triangle choke, he'll only switch to you an armbar, if he has trouble locking the triangle.

Nobody who has a chance of locking the triangle will go, let me do some weird transitions and switch it to an armbar.

It also don't make sense from gameplay perspective, since the armbar switch makes the submission a 3 gate submission, with 1 gate being super fast(the green one) , basically making it a 2 gate submission.

There should be more normal submissions rather than switch submissions. That's the way i meant it.

I've been saying this for awhile now. Sub switches are awesome and I like the mechanic but you need to either buff other submissions or nerf sub switches.

There is literally no reason to ever omaplata / armbar anyone in guard if you have the triangle. I think about 90% of my sub wins are from switches BUT people don't fight to the green gate enough. The defending player is at an advantage and can sit back and hit random directions and wait for the green gate to pop up while the offensive player has to deny the gates AND look for the green gate prompt.

We need something for the defenser who push the green gate like evasive slam and getting better position.
I met a problem with submission, those bastards who spam it for win decisions, for example in mount dominant, spamming the armbar, the solution will be after the atempt, the dominated reverse him to be in his guard.

Ah, I misunderstood what you meant. When you put it that way you are right. On the other hand, if the green gate comes after and you let the blue gate go, both players will know that the switch is coming up, doesn't that give the defender an unfair advantage since he doesn't have to react to the gates?

Well, with the current system, seeing how easy it is to initiate a submission, of course the defender should have some sort of advantage.

Personally, I avoid the green flick If Im playing someone good. If this is how it plays out, thank you for giving me a nice easy 1st gate :P

You can link the Omo to a gogo from guard, not sure if you're aware of that. You probably mean because the triangle is so much faster than the omo though, in which case I apologise, but just pointing it out :P
