I hate the parry so, so much

Almost everyone I fight is the same, they walk forward holding block, and as soon as they're in range they parry the head, so if I jab I freeze up and they throw a 5 hit combo in return.

Now of course I'm supposed to mix it up, of course I can vary timing, of course I can use feints, but that's not the point. The point is that a jab should be safe to throw out, unless you slip and counter, like in actual boxing. A parried jab should not give my fighter a temporary brainfart leaving him open to 15 hit combos.

In EA UFC 3 I want effective defense to consist of movement, slipping, swaying and countering, NOT. STUPID. PARRIES

they've been able to tone down the parry spam a lot since UFC 1 (and even the last couple patches made a big difference between UFC 2 Beta and now)

But yea, still a lot of parry spammin bums out there; i hate it too

Before patch 1 there was this guy i would olay all the time and he would only parry. It has come a long way but saying that doesn't mean much because early on it was way beyond broken

Parries happen all the time in mma. The issue shouldn't be with the parry. The issue is with the counter window and your ability to do nothing immediately after a parry.

Nearly every time I see a parry in real life a counter isn't thrown off of it, and it doesn't really interrupt a fighters ability to throw strikes.

Man me and you both. It's ridiculous how much emphasis is put on parries. The emphasis should be the more effective methods of defense like you metioned. If parries were as effective irl as EA UFC tries to make it seem, we would see fighters doing it all the time much more than trying to use good blocking or effective movement. The truth is parries are also risky and that isn't represented either in the game. But worse is they make it an over rewarded easy system, that caters to noobs so they can create easy offense. Because EA is trying so hard to make a casual friendly mma game, I doubt they will ever make a realistic parry system where you have to parry to the correct side and height of strikes, where the size of counter windows are based on the strike parried, or where eating a strike on a missed parry attempt punishes and does extra damage. Imo all this ridiculous parry system does is interrupt the flow of the striking and allow noobs to fish for easy offense.

i personally dont mind the parry, i rarely use it but it creates a different playstyle. i personally feel you should only be able to slip in a weak strike like a jab/straight/hook etc. but ive played guys that like to try parry alot and made me change my approach to the fight to be unpredictable and tag them throughout the match. its all about changing your pattern of striking against parry people because they like to work out your pattern and try use it against you.

If we got rid of it people would be able to spam much more because there would be no punishment for throwing the same type of strike over and over. for instance some people like body spamming with the straights and jabs but if we got rid of parries they can get away with that constantly, only method against it would be movement which will make the method of defense one dimensional.

Well body spamming is another problem that needs to be adressed. With all other strikes proper distance management and sidesteps should be more than enough to open up good counter opportunities instead of parries

I have the same felling about parry just removed it EA no one want it besides guys who dont know mma...
