EA Sports UFC: 10 Tips for Beginners

The prospect of getting into EA Sports UFC — let alone MMA — can seem quite daunting, as there is a lot to know about the sport. Not only are there the basic concepts (striking, grappling, submissions), but the sport has so many variations and permutations on each of these foundations. On top of that, each fighter has his/her own idiosyncrasies and tendencies. Then, to make it even more complicated, it's important to understand why these techniques matter in a given situation and how they should be used correctly. In other words, there is a great deal to learn. Still, by understanding some of the key ideas, you can get a handle on some of what you're seeing and try and build upon that.

These are great tips. Another tip is going into the challenge mode to work on your skills. Good write up

Dodge counters are very underrated, and very effective esecially vs reckless strikers. Flying knee spammer, dash back or to the side and answer. Do this a few times and you should havr them hurt.

I think you have to hold L1 and R1 at the same time to drop elbows

Re: EA Sports UFC: 10 Tips for Beginners

As a top 3 player on PSN I can appreciate what you're trying to do here, but really at the end of the day posts like this do more harm than good. Now instead of acting on instinct you're going to think too much.

When I go into a fight (I use Big Nog almost exclusively) I rarely go in with a game plan, instead I test my opponent in all areas till I find a vulnerability, when I do I exploit the living hell out of it till they prove to me that they're at the upper hand in that area. More often than not it's the ground game, clinch, or even stand up occasionally.

What's funny is how physiological this game is. I'm not very confident in my striking ability with Nogueira (shouldn't be) however if I land early and often on am opponent they immediately shoot and lose confidence in their hands.
