Thoughts? rumor that UFC 5 will be last and current gen

Not sure how credible this site is......personally I've never heard of it. Was posted on the UFC5 subreddit. May be fake news, dunno. Insider Gaming seemed adamant that its current gen only. Personally I don't care if it's on both generations of consoles as long as no sacrifices were made to developing this game on current gen. Going off past game releases, usually games are not fully optimized when it's designed to run on older and newer consoles. Personally I will be a little disappointed but doesn't automatically mean the game will be garbage. It's not that I don't want people who don't have current gen consoles to not be able to play it, was just hoping this would look and feel like a brand new game and not UFC 4 with a thin coat of paint.

I think so too, and I was certain it was current gen only with the crazy damage system and new engine. I'm hoping it's just a rumor from a site trying to catch some clicks. I haven't heard from anyone else that it was cross gen

No reason to believe this after something more reputable confirmed the opposite, IMO.

I don't believe that it will release on last gen. The beta sign up didn't have any last gen consoles options. If the game was to be released on last gen they would want some data from those consoles as well.

Also, one of their upgrades with this installment HAS to be the next gen graphics, considering the leak and the fact they used the in game models as the cover.

Yea I'm with with ya there. As much as they're pushing the new detailed damage system, 4K/60FPS, new fighter models, Frostbite engine, insane graphics, etc., doesn't sound like there's any way this would run on last gen unless they watered it down to the point that it's not even the same game.
