NHL 17 Revamped Rosters Player Ratings - Top 10 Goalies

Here we go again.

First off, if you haven't taken the poll I posted in the rosters section of this forum, please do so. I'm trying to gauge interest in 2 different revamped roster projects. You would have to do them on your own since there is no roster sharing.

Revamped LITE - revamped ratings based off of EA's ratings scale. This would be much quicker for you to do since it involves much less editing on your part.

Revamped FULL - revamped ratings done in traditional revamped style with more player separation. This would take you much, MUCH longer to do since you would have to fully edit the entire free agency, CHL, etc.


Without further delay, here are my top 10 goalies:

REVAMPED LITE:
1. Carey Price - 97
2. Braden Holtby - 94
3. Ben Bishop - 92
4. Cory Schneider - 91
5. Jonathan Quick - 90
6. Corey Crawford - 89
7. Roberto Luongo - 89
8. Henrik Lundqvist - 88
9. Marc-Andre Fleury - 88
10. Martin Jones - 87
(Note - Brian Elliott, Matt Murray, and Devan Dubnyk are also 87.)


REVAMPED FULL
1. Carey Price - 96
2. Braden Holtby - 93
3. Ben Bishop - 92
4. Cory Schneider - 91
5. Jonathan Quick - 90
6. Corey Crawford - 89
7. Roberto Luongo - 88
8. Henrik Lundqvist - 87
9. Marc-Andre Fleury - 87
10. Martin Jones - 86

Thank you. Goalies are the most difficult to rate because goalies these days are always so inconsistent. So I just keep it simple - base it off of stats. I mainly look at save percentage and goals against average. Those numbers don't lie.

Schneider is better than Holtby and Bishop. He's the second best goalie in the world behind Price.

Look at the teams that they play for. Makes a difference.

I'd argue right now that Holtby is better than Schneids, but it's a close discussion. I do agree however that Schneider is better than Bishop.

I just think Schneider, if he was on the Caps could put up the same totals. The GAA and SVPCT are actually tilted in Schneider's favor, not just last year but in their careers.

Schneider had an awful Devils team in contention until the end of February, and he's probably one of the only reasons that they didn't get McDavid or Matthews instead of Zacha and McLeod. My top 5 would be:

Price



Schneider
Holtby

Bishop
Quick

Lundqvist certainly isn't top five anymore, but he is top 10.
