How to import custom music??

Hey so I dont have a HD on my Xbox and I was going to get a 20GB drive just so I can put custom sounds into the game. But I was wondering if theres another way to transfer music without ripping audio CDs? Like can I load the music from a thumb drive somehow?

Re: How to import custom music??

I stream the custom sounds off my computer via Connect 360 (I have a Mac). It's easier to manage, I don't have to burn them onto a disc and don't have to install them on the Xbox. I'm sure the Windows way is even easier.

I do believe you can play music off a USB drive under normal circumstances, but am not sure if you can create playlists on them - which is what the game pulls the sound from.

So you can use the custom sounds without having to put them on your Xbox hard drive??

Re: How to import custom music??

So howd you do it? I usually burn CDs and it takes forever. I was wondering if there was a way to do it with a flashdrive. Or with the computer way does your computer have to be on for it to work? I've already connected my xbox to my pc but it never can find my pc when my pc is off. Any help would be appreciated.

**********Playstation 3 Instructions:

Before you begin:

*You will need a program called WinRar. To download this, go to this link http://www.rarlab.com/ and scroll down until you see the 3.93 or newer release. Download in the language you want (English for most).

*You need a USB flash drive or CD's.

1. Click on my link and download the folder you want.

2. Once they are downloaded, open each folder SEPARATELY with Winrar.

3. Once the folder is open in WinRar, click on "WIZARD" to "unpack" the files to your desktop.

4. Transfer the new folder that is on your desktop to your USB flash drive or CD.

5. Insert the CD or flash drive into your system.

6. Go to the "music" section on your XMB menu. Go up to your flash drive and hit the "triangle" button and click "display all"

7. You should now see your folders

8. Copy these folders to your PS3 Hard drive.

9. Once they are copied, go to the music section on your XMB, and sort the music by ALBUM.

10. The folders should be at the top and should read 0_HMP_folder name.

11. For Intermission, BIP, PP, PK, and any other generic songs, you can apply these to ALL the teams (not individually like the horns/goal songs) To do this, simply sort by album, find the folder, and create a playlist for the whole folder. Then apply this to all the teams in the league for that category (there is a apply all option in NHL 11)

12. For individual stuff like goal horns or intros, go into the folder. For each teams clip, create a playlist. If your team has multiple clips then put them all into the 1 playlist if you so choose. For example if there are more than 1 goal horn in a playlist, then the game will play them randomly for your team when they score.

13. Once you have created every playlists, start up your NHL 11 game.

14. FOR GOAL HORNS AND SONGS: Go to the custom music section on the menu and start to insert your playlists that you made to the correct teams into THE GOAL HORN SLOT. MAKE SURE YOU ALSO DISABLE THE GOAL SONG SLOT. I made the clips so that the horn and song play together, hence the reason you need to disable the goal song option in NHL 11/12
