Aggression Slider Thoughts

I noticed the majority of users sliders have the aggression slider between 3 and 6.

Not many seem to use it on the low end (as i have in the past).

I just have had a few of the best games i ever have had on all-star with my sliders. Even the few I've played on superstar have been solid as well.

I lowered the aggression slider from 3 to 0 and it was like something clicked. The CPU and CPU teammates weren't running around like chickens with their heads cut off. Everything seemed more under control.

Made setting up on the PP a tad easier, made the PK a bit less aggressive. You know that constant feeling of being rushed bc AI in your grill with a body check on the PK. Gave more time to kind of survey the scene.

It also seemed to make the CPU less super human so to speak. Took away that boost they seem to have.

It had no bearing on penalties either, each team had 2-4 per game for the most part. I even had one game where i had 6 PP's and the CPU just had 1.

Anyone else mess with this?

That's good to hear. I agree that the AI is too in your face at times, and will give this a try in my set.

Yeah you're definitely on to something I roll with aggression around one or two clicks. Anything higher than that I feel like I'm getting hassled all the time

I have been playing with it at 3 (default) wasn't sure what it would do if i lowered it. May have to try it out.

Re: Aggression Slider Thoughts

On old gen, I tried it at 0 and the cpu didn't attack me at all. Oddly enough, there was neutral zone pressure because Forwards didn't aggressively forecheck and sat in the zone instead. The downside was in the offensive zone, I could literally hold the puck with no pressure from the defense at all.

I'm not sure if it is still the case, but aggression also made the offense crash the net more. If I had it set on 6, every forward was in front of the net and made cycling almost impossible.

How are penalties with the lower aggression settings?

Fiddy, are you sliders still this ones, with only the agression at 0?

Yeah, it seems like that's not the case on next gen. Seems like best option is to have it set to either 0, 1, or 2.

Penalties have been solid, I'm not seeing any less than usual because of the change.
