Aggression slider is GREAT

This is basically a game " intensity" slider. Been testing this for many games recently. At 50 aggression slider, it feels like a regular season game against arizona. At 100 aggression it feels like a playoff game with a hated rival.

Rangers-Devils
Bruins-Habs

Less space, much tighter checking, more big hits, more direct offense.

You just need to adjust penalty sliders as you go up on aggression slider.

You can get creative to recreate game situations with this slider.

I've played around with this in years past. I never could get the perfect balance for me, but this is a very useful slider to amp up games against better teams/rivals.

What was the balance issue you were encountering?? Would like to hear you elaborate more on it.

Btw Fiddy, you were in Pengman's XSHL league right? Whatever happened to those guys in the league? They were hardcore sim guys.

Thx

Hey, yeah that was me in those leagues. Some great times with all the 2k games man! Peng and a few of the guys still play NHL ******ly I think. I seen their name in the EASHL standings and have played vs them in years past. I talk to Shadow off and on via social media throughout the year and also keep in touch with WeWantTheCup at times as well. Remember Louie? Him and I work together LOL.

As for the balance issue with the aggression slider. It was more of finding the proper balance with penalties, having to adjust slider sets for good teams vs bad teams, and well the sliders not sticking a lot and having to reset the game etc. Became more of an annoyance and I just stopped tinkering with things.

Man, I miss all those versus leagues. LG and even what the XSHL did and my home site at the time United Leagues did was so ahead of its time. It's a shame 1 v 1 gaming died off long ago because it would be awesome to see these sites thriving now a days.

Down memory lane....thx for the details bit texas and Fiddy. Do either of u guys remember Buya89? Have you seen him around? Russian guy, devils fans.

Regarding the aggression and penalties, there needs to be some tinkering for sure, but hopefully a formula can be found to get it balanced. A solution is in the sliders somewhere. Its worthwhile to explore for sure. 90-100 aggression feels like early 90s playoff hockey. Would work nicely with a 92-93 roster Im playing on.

Quicker decisions have to be made all over the rink, the best part of it.

Heck yeah I remember him as well. Haven't seen him around since 2KHockey.net closed its doors.

Yeah there has to be a balance in there somewhere. I always have the itch to play NHL no matter what, but when I login to play the game just annoys me and I turn it off. lol.

Re: Aggression slider is GREAT

I always put this at 100 for the CPU. It's pretty night and day difference. Helps get realistic amount of penalties against the CPU for 5min periods to like I play. Probably the main reason for me why I always go to 100.
