Another EA Official Roster Update (October #2)

From the official EA site:

The next roster update for NHL 18 is now available on Xbox One and PlayStation 4. We have updated the rosters to reflect the current lineups in the National Hockey League (NHL), American Hockey League (AHL), East Coast Hockey League (ECHL), Western Hockey League, Ontario Hockey League (OHL), Quebec Major Junior Hockey League, Swiss National League (NLA), Deutsche Eishockey Liga (DEL), Finnish Elite League (LIIGA), Swedish Hockey League (SHL) and Czech League (EXTRALIGA).

Included will also be a big an update to the Canadian Hockey League (CHL), with 350+ players being added to the league.

Player Profile: Andrei Svechnikov (RW) | Barrie
Highlighting the new roster update is Andrei Svechnikov, the younger brother of Detroit Red Wings forward Evgeny Svechnikov. At 6’1 and 188 lbs., the right winger was chosen by Barrie with the first pick of the 2017 CHL Import Draft.

Player Profile: Alexis Lafrenière (LW) | Rimouski
At 6’0 and 179 lbs. there is little question that Alexis will be an elite prospect. He is coming off a historic AAA season last year and has carried over his production into the QMJHL. The 2020 NHL Draft-eligible prospect is already considered a front runner for first overall.

I haven't had a chance to check the updates against my CAPs, but it seems to be pretty encompassing!

Great question. They have just vanished. Maybe they are being edited? A little bump up hopefully?

This update is terrible. The Lightning are missing like 5 guys from their top 10 prospects that are on the AHL team. Wow, a huge step down. Even in franchise mode now, they aren't showing up. EA sucks

Cracks me up how many people get pissed at this first major update.

Every year, players will disappear from AHL and ECHL, as they were in the game last year based on their CHL or their PHPA contracts. The AHL ones have to be redone each year, and it takes time for all the teams to get theirs, and get them signed and returned. If they moved from the CHL to AHL, they have to start from scratch (see process above).

Every year it's the same thing.

I think people are more pissed that there is no roster share like every other sports game out there has had going back to last Gen. most of us understand the AHL players situation and college player rules what we don’t understand is still missing a very basic feature that people have asked for year after year. To rub salt in the wound EA won’t even acknowledge the request or give an answer as to why they won’t add this simple last gen feature. If there is a legit reason please share it with the community.
