You seem to be under the assumption that I just love picking apart the game. You have no idea how much I hate that. I use this forum as a way to release my anger because of how frustrating this game is. MLB The Show is a game that I have pure enjoyment. The game has it's faults, but it is so much like the real life sport that the small faults aren't nearly as big because the gameplay is good.

I agree the fighting engine was done pretty well when I tried the game out, but how often do fights happen? Not often. Instead of them fixing board play so players no longer kick a puck the same speed as the puck can be passed with a stick, they add fighting. To me that just doesn't seem logical. Board play happens throughout the course of the game a lot more than fighting yet fighting gets fixed and board play has been the exact same since it was put into the game. To me those are the decisions that kill this game, and the reason it gets hated on. Instead of fixing the dump in glitch, they put out tuners and patches to "fix" other things. They put in the most rare occurrences seen in hockey, instead of fixing or implementing the most seen occurrences in hockey. I just don't see improvement as adding in rare occurrences, only to leave the most basic things untouched or not implemented into the game.
I love the Show as well, granted baseball is far easier to reproduce that title too isn't without it's issues, I feel bad for the people who try to play the Show online every year only to find out that every year like clock work that title barely functions online at all even after all the patches and tweaks. Yet Sony Santa Monica doesn't seem to get it's feet held to the fire quite as badly as EA does with NHL on a yearly basis on a much smaller budget and also being a multiplatform game.

Considering your only posts on the NHL forum are gripes and some of them along the lines of borderline nitpicks, that's the impression you tend to leave. Don't take me the wrong way bwigs, you're entitled to your opinion, you're certainly entitled to rip the game a new one til the cows come home if that's your fancy. As repetitive as it gets after awhile.

I certainly agree with some of the gripes, neutral zone pressure by the AI CPU control teams more so than anything for sure. But at the end of the day, the game is fun enough and realistic enough with the slider set I use, that the 60 bones for ME is justified.

As for things like board play what truly do you want them to do with what they can possibly do in a video game? 5 player scrums on the boards all shuffling around? Maybe have animations where the puck ping pongs between a players skates to "simulate a puck battle?" Honestly what do you expect out of a video game trying to recreate the arguably toughest of all sports to recreate in this medium?

Again and even I'm tired of repeating it because I'm sure it gets as old for you guys to hear as I am of saying it, with 512 megs of ram what did you honestly expect as to a wall of where they could go last gen? I was actually surprised the physics got as far as they did on the PS3/360 because really, both of those systems as much as I've enjoyed owning them both at various times, are under powered and not very impressive over all.

I may be spoiled having always tried to stay near high end PC wise and enjoying better visuals at a higher resolution and frame rate than either console could muster that I never fell pray to NEXT GEN THIS NEXT GEN THAT! I still haven't with the PS4 or Xbone as while they're both more powerful than the PS3 and 360 respectively, they both still pale in comparison to a high end PC. When you also take into consideration the PS4 and Xbone have the equivalent of a ATI 7000 series video card in them and we're two generations of video cards beyond that at the PC level, its not hard to continue to not buy into the NEXT GEN! hype.

We've seen one sizzle trailer and a few screen shots, and already the same vocal few are already nitpicking before we've even seen 5 on 5 actual footage that isn't cut up to death for trailer purposes.

Do I expect some improvements going forward? Yes, I've stated as such, I do expect AI improvements, 8 gigs of ram is a substantial amount over last gen. They have more room for more complicated run routines, which would hopefully include better AI play over all. That being said? Even if NHL on this gen of consoles is just a prettier NHL 14 with better crowds, presentation and arenas? I actually wouldn't be all that upset over it because fortunately I enjoy the game enough where it is at the moment gameplay wise. I actually feel bad for those who can't get any enjoyment out of NHL 14 either because of a floaty puck on dump ins or because the board play and animations aren't to their liking.

If it looks like that in-game, this will give 2K a run for its money. I'm stunned. I also hope the new physics system pans out well. I can see good times on the horizon.

Actually I do. So does the friend whom I play online the most. Not that I am even complaining about the graphics. It is just that you should be aware that at least two people do play the game at ice level.

Apparently FiFA 15 has 10 man group celebrations...hopefully NHL has the 5 man in it!

Re: NHL 15: E3 Trailer

Honestly, if they would just turn live the life into something MUCH more like NBA 2k14's my career mode, and give a third person camera option, I wouldn't care what else they'd do to the game. That's my dream game made, but it's in the wrong game. I play NBA 2k14 and I can't name three players on each team in the NBA; I just play my career and it's the best thing ever. If it were in NHL I'd only put the controller down for work and food.

I'm right with you on this Moose, would love to see that treatment as well.
