Loyal NHL series purchaser over the years, this year, love the game besides two things. Offline BIP custom music is not playing, every year I take time, because I am almost neurotic about it to customize each arena with arena specific music. Each team has their base but each arena has 20-30 different from the 200 ditty base that makes them different, and after spending the few hours to do this (which I always do before even playing game), it is not there. I ONLY play offline BeA GM and this year probably season, but this is huge and hopefully corrected soon.

Another issue, I pick hardcore authentic sim style player and I play 9 minute periods. Two games, 0 penalties by both teams in both games. Really? Nhl10 post patch had penalties perfect, what happened EA? It has gotten worse each year. Just disgusted that the game looks good, but two of the biggest things that makes this a sim for me is bugged/flawed...

But for may game, (I got yesterday), not seeing what you are, You have to adjust you sliders to the style you play. Most likely tone down some, as some people raise the sliders right away.

For me, I am using my NHL13 sliders in NHL14,
Played two games, Legends vs Legends, and All star team vs All star team.

the first game I lost 6 -0. This was before the patches. Had a number of fights and a few power plays. Overall avg 17 minutes in penalties per side. Shot totals within 5 shots - 41 - 36. On Allstar mode.
Biggest complaint was two goals were scored on the one-handed deke from behind the net around the goalie.

The second game was 4-3 loss in overtime (All-star Mode). Shots about even, lots of fights and penalties. About 4 minor for each side, and 6 fights . I could have had less but I hit Y on every jostling after the whistle. Even had a fight during play...that was nice touch.
The shots were 42 - 39.

I do see the poke check being to easy, but that might be by adjusting the pokecheck slider and the puck control slider to find the sweet spot.

Overall,,the game is good and fun to play....but tha't my two cents.

The next trial will be with Team Canada vs Team USA. If the play is good, then I will try a season in a league.

If they fix the custom BIP music issue, I will play around with sliders, right now the custom music issue is a game breaker for me.... I enjoy the game, and haven't done anything with penalties except turn them all the way up, so maybe I will just go with the out of box defaults for simulation, but not until they patch the music issue. I can't believe this is an issue and was not caught prior to release....
