Yes, this is a lesson the EA NHL team should have learned from the Madden & Ncaa guys - you really OUGHT to be able to access ANY games throughout the season in franchise/GM modes...without it, it does take away the immersion of a living, active league, imho.

Are you kidding me???.....Every sports game allows you to randomly select a Franchise game and play it out if you like. I just dont understand why you cant do it with NHL!?

Also, I cant even figure out how to see other teams matchups and boxscores either

It seems like this game has no AROUND The LEAGUE section to fill you in on whats going on in your franchise other than your own games and schedule. Why cant you simply scroll thru any teams schedule??...click on the date of previously played games to see boxscores and stats for the game and be able to click on any upcoming game and PLAY NOW. Or would that make too much sense???

With all the depth this game has in its trading and negotiating model, it seems to be pretty shallow in other areas, creating a somewhat imbalanced and lacking franchise experience...no?

yeah welcome to EA's priority on helmets popping off and goalie fights. We've basically had the same franchise mode since '08

I remember doing this on NHL 97 on snes.

15 years later it's not possible.

sim to the next day. check the score of the games, if you don't like the results, exit without saving, and repeat.

Yeah, but today, every sports game also has stats from players' entire careers, rather than just the last 4 years, and easy ways to search rosters of all teams. Some deficiencies in the NHL series, like this, just repeat year after year.
