All Star game=meh

So, playing NHL 11, the All Star game is here. So for fun, I decided to play it.

What a disappointment. The center logo is the same Carolina Hurricanes logo as the regular season (Playing 11 remember, so last year). And no skills competition at all. Just another game on the schedule.....

I know maybe not many fans give a rat's behind about AS weekend, but even The Show goes all out for its AS game.

Just another thing EA should address to add to the immersion.

Re: All Star game=meh

All sports games have trouble making the All Star game feel like a big deal.

Although the old NBA Live PS2 games at least had the dunk contest and 3 point competition. Usually though, the All Star game in every sports video game just feels like another game on the schedule.

They could all make it a bit more immersive and special.

Yeah, have to agree...the All-Star game doesn't have all that much of a special feel to it. Presentation wise.

But it's at least fun to play with all the top players for that one game each season.

I usually just check the rosters to see who made it and then just sim the game. It would be way better if they added the skills competitions.

I had a pretty enjoyable all-star game a while ago. What I did was turning aggression, hitting and goalie reaction speed to minimum and set period length to 16 min. Also updated the rosters and Team Alfredsson won the game 12-5. I was Team Alfie for 2 periods and Team Chara for 1 period.

If they added the skills competition it would be so cool. But right now it's lame. I look at the rosters see if I have any players and if I have a lot of players I'll play it. The last two seasons I've had one each year so I haven't played it.
