Wasn't there a "gather the puck" control in past years? Sometimes my guy will just watch the puck go right by him and it seems as though I have no way to make the guy just reach his stick out and pull the puck in.
Its not all the time but it happens randomly enough to anger me!
Sometimes the guy gathers pucks I wouldn't think he should then other times a puck goes slowly by.

It all depends on your offensive awareness. The higher it is the more likelyhood that you will gain control of the puck. It can be infuriating at times to be closer than an opponent to the puck and they will magically suck it in because apparently they're more "Aware".

But yeah it's all based on that stat.

Ok that makes some sense. I just thought there used to be a specific user control...sad that theres no man.ual way to do this.

Holding LT helps too, faces your player towards the puck.

It's sadly one of those things that is just obnoxious a lot of the time.
Your guy will turn like he's going to pick up the puck...and just float by it as the other team scoops it up and skates away.
It's not as bad as the bug that's about to get my MLB 2k11 Disc smashed.
When your outfielder runs under a fly ball and just gets hit with it, doesn't even try to catch it.

This is one of those annoying things that they fixed a year or two ago, but now has crept back in the game. Bouncing pucks are just impossible to pick up for me no matter what. I just end up ignoring the puck and hitting the CPU player nearby to keep them from getting it until it settles down.
