Anyone skipping out on NHL 12?

Anyone skipping out on NHL 12 and going with NHL 11 or another NHL title (past or present, if there are any other ones out there) for their fix this coming hockey season?

For me, I'm sticking with NHL 11. After a brief period of hatred towards the game (which was preceded by a love affair for the game, and proceeded by playing some NHL 2k10), I've decided to skip out on NHL 12. Actually that's not it, I have fallen into a groove of skipping next year's edition the year I purchase a game. So NHL 11, skipping NHL 12, and I'll most likely pick up NHL 13.

Same thing I did with Madden 10, skipped Madden 11, and am going to pick up Madden 12. And I'm really excited, because there seems to be a pretty decent amount of change. So for a series like the NHL series that's been really good for a few years now and no big changes have to be made, this seems like the most logical step to take.

I'm sure the game will be great. And I'll miss out on the goalie collisions and other upgrades they've added. But then I'll get two times the advancements a year from now (this year's enhancements and NHL 13's features). Plus, I get to continue on in my franchises on NHL 11 and really get the most out of the game.

What are all of your plans?

I was considering it but the one change I really wanted in the game was a new sim engine so seeing as they seem to have delivered on that i'll be picking up NHL 12.

I get the idea of skipping versions but I generally only skip versions if i'm not impressed with whats on offer or I am really enjoying the previous version.

To each their own but I am addicted to hockey so unless someone sends me to rehab, I don't think I'll be skipping out.

Depends on the demo and the early reviews if I'll get it around release day or just wait until after december.

Yup. IMO this series has slowly skidded downhill each year gameplay-wise since NHL 08. Too much focus on other stuff (EASHL, HUT, CHL, etc) rather than on what brought this series back to life on the current-gen systems --- gameplay.

Nope. This game is way too much fun for me to skip it.

Don't agree with that. They've put a lot of effort into EASHL/HUT/BAP and I don't think the gameplay has gone downhill. I think some minor details have been ignored... but overall nobody puts more innovation into their game each year to make it exciting than the NHL crew. HUT is a great idea and a great single player mode if you're club isn't online. Lots of things you can do by yourself to pass the time unlike other sports games.
