Good news and bad news.

Good news is, as I think someone else has posted is that the Stanley Cup Final patches appear to be in...

Bad news is it looks like they put them at about 65% opacity in photoshop. I've been waiting forever for these to be in the game and now they look like they are transparent. What the heck? They need to be much, much darker.

I thought the same thing. They don't quite resemble patches as much as the logo simply placed on them. Perhaps it was a rushed add-on so they could include it in the vid.

Regardless, the positioning is off a bit too. On the Bs jersey, it overlaps onto the yellow and black shoulder area. IRL they were lower, completely surrounded in white.

Oh please, I'm more ticked off that the Stanley Cup presentation is the EXACT SAME DAMN THING! So much for presentation.

Re: Good news and bad news.

you know what they need a playable holding the cup with your character
after you win it you get to press a button kiss the stanley cup or skate around ice with the stanley cup and pass it around to other players and raise the roof
of the crowd displaying the cup to the crowd or holding the cup with two arms going up and down with stanley cup with hats

I usually just want to get the cinematics over with so I can get into the off season. Doesn't really bother me that they don't spend more time and waste more data on programming manual cup celebrations!

I'm starting to wonder if in the end, the main bulk of NHL'12's presentation upgrades were sunk into the Winter Classic and the Stat tracker. And beyond that...maybe not a whole lot else is really that different?

Kind of a negative thought. But I am kinda starting to wonder.

I think a manual Cup celebration that gives the user complete control over hoisting, skating with, and passing the Cup would add such a dimension to Be a GM and playoff modes. Currently, there is no real reward to winning the Cup. But this would make it so much more rewarding. I'd be more motivated to build a cup-winning team, and the games would have more meaning.

Re: Good news and bad news.

NHL 2k9 or 2k10 or both, had the manual celebrations with the cup. It was actually pretty cool, press A to pass it along, or X to kiss it, Y to raise it etc.

They also even had playoff beards which added to the effect to.
