Be a GM Too Easy

I was bored, so I started a new Be a GM with the Leafs, and made no changes at all to the roster. Then I simmed a season, and Toronto finished 2nd in the Eastern Conference. Then I did the same thing with Florida, and they finished 3rd in the conference. It seems that team ratings don't matter when simming. Teams like Pittsburgh and Washington were finishing with less than 80 points, while Florida and Toronto were dominating. This needs to be addressed for NHL 12. There is absolutely no way Florida even comes close to the playoffs in the next few years, let alone a division title.

The last time i simmed with the oilers .... i went on the last place in conference

I've gotten some pretty odd results in GM mode too.

Capitols, Red Wings for instance, near the bottom of the standings. And teams like the Panthers as an example, in the conference finals. I guess in someways it doesn't bother me too much. Because it is kinda nice to see some surprises. But ya...it does seem to point to issues with the current sim engine.

Supposedly, the sim engine has been reworked for '12'.
