Thoughts on Offensive Awarness?

- Off. Awareness: Players in possession of high offensive awareness have good vision, which improves their playmaking ability and a knack for finding the back of the net.

So, am I to think that with high offensive AWR more of my shots might go in or am I misinterpreting that?

I think you have that half right. I believe the second part (the shots finding the net) would be a product of shooting accuracy (and to a lesser degree, shooting power). I think offensive awareness is being in the right area for getting open for a shot, finding the open man for a pass, anticipating rebounds, etc.

So for an EASHL build would you say that OFF AWR is worthless?

I agree with your thoughts Glenn.

Imo too, a player with a high offensive AWR rating, will be better positioned to make a play in the offensive zone, than a lower rated player. At least that's how I see it too.

The AWR for the defensemen seems to really matter as well.

Might be able to look at the OFF AWR as an "attribute modifier". That's how I look at it. A higher rating, as said above, means a higher probability of making a play or goal, also based on passing / shooting ratings. Guess you could look at it like: Goal Scored Chance = Off Awr + Shot Accurcy.

Re: Thoughts on Offensive Awarness?

Offensive awareness does 3 things:

-- Increases chance of picking up loose pucks via automatic puck recovery animations.

-- Improves responsiveness and effectiveness of vision control.

-- An "auto aim" effect on your shot that redirects the puck towards open spots in the goal.
