I have been pleasantly surprised by the drop-in portion of this game. Yes there are puckhogs, cheesers, etc, but overall it has been a ton of fun, even for a guy like me who plays center and is a 2WF, and play pretty sim. I couldn't believe that I was literally jumping off my couch in a drop-in game. I mean real life drop-in's are bad enough with puck hogs and super shifters, so I thought the video game version would be even worse, but truth be told I have more fun playing NHL 11 drop in than I do real life drop in.

Last game was insane. We scored 2 early, then gave up one, put put back in a third. I was pretty sure we were going to coast up 3-1. Then we gave up a bad lazy goal, next thing I know we give up a shorthand, and it is 3-3. We then get scored on again and it is 4-3 with only 2 minutes left. With about a minute left we score on an awesome one timer, and make it 4-4. Puck comes down to our end with time running out and the goalie makes a bad pass, goes off our D's skates, and bounces back and hits the post with no goalie in net. We move the puck back up ice, and with about 10 seconds left in regulation we end up on a breakaway, and our guy gets tripped from behind and set up for a penalty shot. The dude dekes and scores, and we win the game.

I was laughing, jumping up and down, shouting "oh no!!!", I had so much fun. Gotta give the devs credit this year, the game is freaking awesome, even with its many flaws. It is the closest a hockey game has ever come to capturing the excitement of the game.

lighten up, it's just a video game. I was simply stating a contrarian opinion, get over it.

My point is that if you just play the game for what it is, it is a lot of fun. People need to stop fretting over every tiny little nuance of the game. It is still a video game, if you want to play hockey just like real life, pick up a stick and go play. I video game will never perfectly replicate real life.
