Is there a speed burst button?

Hi there

I haven't played an NHL game since the mid 90s so apologies for not being too clued up in this arena.

I recently played the demo for NHL 10 and I really enjoyed it.
Just wondering though, is there a speed burst button? Or something equivalent which tells the character that you're controlling to speed up aggressively?

(I did try searching the forum but I got a strange message about 'missing_security_token')

No Speed burst button.
Speed is controlled by pushing up with the left stick. Players accelerate until they reach their top speed.

Cheers for the response.

Incredible to see how far hockey games have come over the last 15 yrs or so. I really enjoyed the demo of Be a Pro mode where you play as one player and get drafted into a team. This is now a definite purchase for me.

The only annoying thing I noticed with the game was when I tried shooting in a crowded area. It often led to penalties as the check button is the same as shoot. Have you any tips on how to avoid that happening?

Re: Is there a speed burst button?

Push LT button when you get the puck.

but you can't burst your player's speed like last generation's NHL games.

So if I'm positioned close to the goal expecting a pass, can I hold LT down and get ready for the one timer shot?

Yep, there is a thread a few down from this one started by GRAYFOX describing exactly what to do. Take a peek
