If the puck is in the air it's automatic.

If the puck is on the ice you just have to take a shot with the right stick. Holding vision control L2 also helps.

One timing loose pucks seems to be easier if you are very early in flicking the right stick up. A good second or more.

To practice this start a 1 on 0 training.

- When you start at center ice lightly tap the saucer pass button R1. ( try to get it so it almost stops between the circles in the high slot.)

- Take your skater and skate in a wide arc so you attack the puck from the south east/south west depending on what the handle-ness your skater is and then press up on the right stick and guide your player to the puck.

If you are successful your skater will take a slap shot.

If the puck is in the air, it's not automatic (at least, not for the 360).

You attempt a baseball bat swing the same way you would attempt a regular one-timer off the ice.
