how to work draft

hi there i was wondering if any1 could help me.i am new to nhl and ice hockey only started getting into it this year.im from uk.i cant get my head round the draft thing.how do u know who to pick and how good they will be?also wat is the best way 2 develop players in ur team?

You need to scout players during the year and you will unlock some of their stats and stuff.
