Still looking for that PERFECT SLIDER SET???

Well the game has now been out for 6 months now, and we've gotten tuner updates, patches and rosters updates. I for one have had the game since day one and still find myself tinkering with sliders all the time. But it isn't just this game, it's also the MLB series. I remember when games didn't have slider options or very few and i'd wish they had, but now with all the different ones they do put in the games, sometimes its just as frustrating trying to get...the PERFECT SLIDER SET....who else out these is with me on this. Granted I do believe we've gotten to a stage where we are looking for to much perfection and forgetting some of the fun factor. And what I might find perfect for me may not be the same for someone else. But I find myself still looking for that realistic....PERFECT SLIDER SET...Chime in guys....

Probably should put this in the slider section.

The thing is, you can ask 100 people the same question, and you won't get 100 same answers. What is "realistic" to one, might not be to another. Basically, you just have to experiment with the sliders and find the one that works best for your style of play.

That's what he is saying though. He was tweaked and tweaked sliders for months now and finding that happy medium just isn't there. I've been there with alot of sports games. It's almost like an addiction it seems or that maybe if I just tweak this slider and or this slider maybe I'll get better results. Even though I've tweaked every slider in NHL 11 and 2K10 in every direction and I'm still not completely happy. Probably because of the way the game was programmed and there is no fixing what I would like fixed. At least not with sliders.

I agree. Not just this game, but any game with sliders, I don't believe you'll ever find the "perfect set". I'm not a huge baseball fan, and don't know much about it, but I really enjoyed MLB the Show...up until I tinkered with the sliders. It's like the new "drug". Once you tinker, you keep looking for the next best set...or rosters are released with updated ratings, which in turn will affect your sliders.

What would be interesting, and I thought this was done last year, would be to take EVERYONES slider sets, and come up with an "average" slider set. In other words, compare each slider across the board and use the "average" for that slider, and see what kind of slider set is designed.

Re: Still looking for that PERFECT SLIDER SET???

(Raises hand in back corner of classroom)

This is me 100% with NHL 11. As you can see by my thread, I've been tinkering with sliders for months and I'm still not satisfied. In fact, I don't even like my sliders right now, lol.

I seriously just want to have a game that plays (somewhat) realistic (I put that in parenthesis because we know that this game is not 100% sim and that's OK) style of hockey, while still holding that fun factor.

I'm very much lost and would like to just pick a set and go with it.

What's funny is that last year I played well over 100 games of NHL 10 and had a blast and only made MINIMAL slider changes. In fact, going back to other games I've played in the last year (NCAA 11, MLB 10 The Show, NBA Live 10, NBA 2K11), the ones I've played the most have been ones where I've barely touched sliders and just played.

Perhaps I just need to go back to the default settings and play and not worry about things being 100% the way I THINK they should be.
